it's no secret,
that we're told so frequent,
about how our voices as a teenager,
is nothing major,
often cast off as full of ourselves, ignorant,
plain old stupid and arrogant.
we're told that we don't have a voice,
can't even make our own a choice,
that we simply need to "grow up",
but how can we do so when our whole life is their set-up?
"you can't change anything",
as trouble is only what we bring,
we're oblivious to the "real world",
only to be told that we're living in our own dreamworld,
where all our opinions,
ambitions and visions,
are all nothing but simply our hallucinations,
and it seems like we're never old enough to make the right decisions.
our voices so often belittled,
the amount of our thoughts are whittled,
until all our thoughts are suppressed till none are spoken,
all our dreams left broken,
our opinions viewed as worthless ideas,
nothing but a teen's useless idea.
of course, I'm well aware that not all adults disparage teenagers,
as the same goes to all teenagers,
not all of us are useless, disrespectful rebels,
neither are we irresponsible or arrogant devils,
just because the minority are uncontrollable or insane,
it doesn't mean the rest of us are the same.
some of us care about the future,
don't just treat our thoughts as a humor,
some of us are up to date on world affairs,
because the future of our generation is what we all care,
but ALL of us have courageous minds with our own visions,
doesn't matter how we express our thoughts to millions,
through music, writings, speeches or art,
our voices will all play a part,
to this society,
vitally.
our voices matter,
it's not just a chatter,
our voices are the future,
in a decade's time we are the rulers.
