media's portrayal

the media's portrayal of beauty,

and the bodies we see in movies,

are simply unrealistic,

extremely quixotic,

don't let those starving girls you see online,

influence you to go on diet and put your life on the line,

don't let those models who are defined as "pretty",

impact your confidence and make you feel so sh*tty,

to be insecure of your own self,

but rather you should really love yourself.

not to mention the portrayal of races,

to be stereotyped just purely from the look of our faces,

judged immediately from the color of our skin,

but not from what's within,

so what's your guess on the amount of american black professional athletes?

10 million? 500,000? 50,000? please don't cheat.

1,200 it is,

you know you just failed this quiz,

there are 20 times more black dentists than black athletes,

15 times more black doctors,

and 12 times more black lawyers.

never knew that do you?

look how much the media has fooled you,

into believing all the negative implications of the blacks,

the roles they play in movies are often just rebellious or comedian acts,

and as for the whites,

their pictures are often painted in social stability and under the spotlight,

but did you know that they represent a 17% of the poor in media,

and make up a 66% of the poor across the country?

Asians in the media have been seen in many ways,

some who are extremely good at martial arts who amaze,

some who have zero knowledge in the English language and seem so lost,

as men are too often seen as emasculated or lecherous,

while women are either dragon ladies or China dolls.

about the media's portrayal of celebrities,

with so much complexity,

some may be seen as perfection,

doing so much donation,

such an inspiration,

to the younger generation,

but some are spoiled,

as they are foiled,

showing-off their lavish lifestyles online,

leaving the average person to see the false actions and putting their lives on the line,

some used to be recognized for their actual talents,

but now they're known for their inappropriate actions they call a talent,

but behind all their guise,

is a totally average person living a simple life.

the media's portrayal,

is just an act of betrayal,

as behind the screens of the medias and screens,

sits a person who's just doing their job to get their article to be seen,

and from all the portrayals of people by the media I'm receiving,

no longer do i believe in seeing is believing.
