Unforgettable- Thomas Rhett
Max and I cleaned up the mess in the garage— that took hours to clean. And by Max and I, I really mean the I part. Max didn't really help, he kind of just cheered me on as he stood off to the corner and played games on his phone. It would have been quicker if he would have just helped, but no. I had to do it all myself. Are all boys like that? I swear if all boys are like that they are not going to survive in this world. Not even for a second. The pizza arrived, but we decided to start fixing my room.
He actually helped me this time. He carried boxes in and up to my room as I carried the other boxes I needed. Then we set up my pictures and hung some things on the grey walls of my room. I directed him to where he can put my dressers and my nightstand as he complained and whined about it. He's such a baby. I had to clean up paint, he just has to move stuff around. We emptied all of the boxes when I discovered a box that wasn't mine. Well, I didn't deserve it.
"What's this?" Max asks squatting down and picking up a picture.
"Nothing." I quickly take the picture from his hand and put it back in the box, closing it up. It was a picture I couldn't look at anymore. Why would I want to see a picture of the one person I'll never see again? Picking up the box, I stand up and look at Max's confused face. "I'm sorry." I say. "It's just, it's his mother's and she hates it when we go through her stuff."
"Oh." He says nodding in understanding. "My mom is the exact same way. She hates it, but I do it anyway."
"Shocking." I mutter walking out of my room and down the stairs.
"I sense sarcasm." He says and I roll my eyes as I walk out into the garage and place the box next to my mothers stuff. I told Liam not to bring this. I told him I didn't want it. He just doesn't understand.
"Oh really?" I ask sarcastically.
"Is it possible for you to ever be, I don't know, nice?" He asks. I cross my arms and look him dead in the eyes.
"No." I go back inside to eat the pizza to find only one box
Max and I look at each other, but I knew who did this. The twins. Did they really have to take a whole box of pizza? "We're missing a box." Max says with his eyebrows raised and I nod.
"I see that." I say. "The twins must have taken it." Why a whole box? "I'm surprised they didn't take all of it."
"Do they usually do this?" He ask and I nod staring him in the eyes.
"They usually don't even save us a little of the food. It's like they have a bottomless pit as a stomach." I sigh, grabbing the box of pizza and walking up the stairs to my room.
"So, what are we going to do?" Max asks and I hesitate but walk into my room and sit the pizza box on my bed.
"We?"
"Yes, we." He sits down on my bed kicking off his shoes and making himself comfortable laying across my bed. I sit down next to my bed and just stare at him as he hangs his head upside down and looks at me. "I don't want to stay inside tonight, I want to go out." When did I agree to hang out with him? When did I say he had to stay with me?
"Tonight?"
"Well, when else are we going to hang out again?" He asks as if it was obvious. He sits up opening the pizza box and picking out a large piece before laying back and eating it upside down. I shake my head at him.
"I didn't know we had to hang out."
"Of course we do!" Max says excitedly and with a mouth full of food. He swallows but then takes another bite. "I always hang out with my friends."
