Severus stood up slowly but gracefully keeping his balance as the extra weight around his middle threatened to make him topple over. He sighed his normal blank mask of a face placed on as he worked his way out of the library flicking his wand lazily to shut the door and dim the lights as he left. He waddled down the hall, the hand not clutching his wand placed softly on the underside of his rounded stomach. The steps creaked lightly under his weight as he slowly made his way down the steps and into his husbands office. At the sound of the opening door the sitting man glanced up silently before jumping up to his feet and helping the pregnant man to a small loveseat, forgetting whatever he had been working on in favor of helping him.

"Tom im fine, this is not needed. I'm not a child to be fussed over." The dark eyed man said attempting to shoo his lover away. He said this all in a gentle tone knowing perfectly well why he was the center of the crimson eyed mans attention.

"As much as I love you Severus, you know I'm only doing this for our little prince. Honestly though, I don't love you that much," he said teasingly as he placed a pillow behind the seated man and smirking slightly. He was rewarded with a light hit on the head by said man.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you only keep me around because of Alexander." He raised an eyebrow at the crimson eyed man and smiling as a gentle kiss was placed on his lips.

"I thought we agreed on Hadrian?"

"I don't remember saying yes to that." Tom narrowed his eyes at his husband before kneeling down to his bulging abdomen and placing his lips near it.

"Your mummy is lying to me little one. Hadrian is a strong name for a strong child of my own making."

"Mummy?," thé dark eyed man glared down at the kneeling man. He looked appalled at the word already formulating an argument to the name that Tom had used.

"Yes, mummy. We can't both be father." Tom seemed amused at the expressions that crossed over Severus' face.

"You know damn well that we agreed on you being dad and me being father. Come on Tom."

"Watch your language around the baby," Tom whispered to a fuming Severus smiling to himself as he rubbed the mans stomach. He felt a small movement Under his palm and smiled as the seated man shifted in slight discomfort. "Hadrian agrees with me. Dont you little one?" The last part was directed at the small moments from the child inside his husband. He stood up and stalked out of the room after whispering a 'I'll be right back' to the dark eyed man.

"Don't worry Alexander, I won't let your dad burden you with that name. Alexander Thomas Riddle-Snape sounds a lot better than Hadrian Salazar Riddle-Snape." The only response he received was a small kick which probably wasn't even directed at him but to Toms missing presence.

Tom held a babbling baby boy as he wiggles and gurgled, every once in a while the name 'Dray' slipping from his lips. He rolled his eyes as his son whimpered in his grasp whining out a dray followed by gurgles.

It had amused Severus and Lucius to no end that both their sons first words were neither of their names but their best friends. Only Tom had been left unamused as he emphasized his name to the small child in his arms in an attempt to win a bet with Narcissa and Bellatrix. Before the births of both Draco and Alexander the three had created a bet saying which baby would speak first and what parent or family members name they would say. To their greatest displeasure Alexander had spoken first yelling 'Dray!' when he was babbling to the other causing Severus and Lucius to laugh at the sour faces of those within the bet. To add to their amusement Draco the next day had spoken his first word yelling 'Al' when he crawled over to place a toy snake in his hands.

Tom placed the small boy in his crib placing a small dragon toy next to him, in hopes of calming his whimpers. Instead he received a loud, piercing wail as the boy looked sadly up at his father making grabby hands to be picked back up once more. The 9 month old was quite intelligent for his age and had quickly learned, like his best friend that crying and reaching up always got him back into the arms of the adult that he choose.

When he was picked back up by a begrudging Father he smiled and then gurgled happily again his eyes searching for the dragon toy which he had let fall to the ground after being picked up. "Dray," he said sadly reaching for the small stuffed to which he found on the dark floors a few feet away from them. His father looked at the boy sideways before snapping his fingers and allowing it to float into the expecting arms of the wide eyed child. When the dragon was safely in his arms and bounced the boy on his hip before making his way downstairs smiling slightly at the amused expressions on his sons face as he passed by all the moving portraits which hung around Riddle Manor which waved to him and giggled at his wide eyes. Tom felt the wards shift signaling that someone had entered the manor and knew immediately from the magical signature that it was his lover. The child in his arms seemed to notice as well seeing as he perked up and pointed towards the figure moving at the bottom of the spiral staircase.

"Yes, that's mummy." He whispered this softly to the child walking briskly down the last few flights which separated the two men. The boy babbled louder causing the man on the lower level to look up at the sound. He smiled at the sight of the two and waited patiently for them to finish descending the steps. The child reached out his arms to his mother giving him a smile which contained his two front teeth. He was placed into the strong arms quickly and he turned to his mother showing him his dragon and babbling to him about nonsense slipping in a few 'drays' when he waved the dragon around. The man laughed lightly at the scene in front of him using his wand to snap a picture of the two. Severus rolled his eyes as his son continued to speak to him, nodding his head at the appropriate times and looking amusedly at his husband, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm sure mummy wants to hear all about your day but let's get some food hmm?" He directed the question at the boy before walking away in search of a house elf.

He returned to find Severus on the ground, a baby sat next to him, various toys surrounding him but the blocks and dragon gaining most of his attention. Tom and Severus talked silently over tea while Alexander sipped from the bottle of warm milk he had been offered moments ago. They spoke about what had been going on at Hogwarts and the meetings which Tom held whenever Alexander was in the care of Narcissa Malfoy. When he wasn't he spent time watching over his heir as he worked on paperwork in his now toy riddled office.

Alex cried out at the blocks came crashing down and looked expectantly to his mother who always repaired it for him, his father usually just giving him something else to do. When his mother didn't respond he pouted and babbled a bit louder hoping that one of his parents would look his way and help him. His eyes began to fill with tears but stopped as he seemed to remember something. "Mummy!" He yelled out happily as both his parents eyes widened and turned to him looking shocked. "Mummy?" He called out again, this time softer as both his parents had not moved from their shocked positions. He pointed at his mother then looked sadly at the blocks which had fallen over his dragon. This seemed the shake them out of their shock as they smiled widely and began to praise the boy. He was gently scooped up by his 'mummy' and praised even more. He smiled at the attention seemingly proud of his accomplishment before repeating the two words which he knew. "Mummy! Dray!" He said pointing back at the fallen tower earning a bark of laughter from his father.

Severus rolled his eyes playfully and twirled his finger allowing for the tower to be reconstructed. He clapped his chubby hands together and placed a wet kiss on his mothers cheek, crawling back over to the now rebuilt tower and continuing to amuse himself for the time being. Severus, too happy to now watch his child who had said his name before his husband was too distracted to realize exactly what he had been called, Tom of course did not.

"Well then mummy, what shall we do with this little one," he said gently watching as his son placed the dragon plush on the ground next to the tower and added more pieces. Severus scowled before turning back to his son.

"What ever shall we do with you?" He whispered this curling into his husband and watching their child play on the carpet as he babbled to himself quietly.
