🍛Dinner At The Naras🍛

I was laying on something soft and I felt a warmth covering me 'I don't remember going home' I opened my eyes groggily and saw that I was not at home, in fact, I don't know where I am at all. I sit up and see Shika-kun 'what happened why is he here?' then I see Shikamaru start to chuckle.

"You fell asleep wet, so I brought you to my house," he said not hiding the fact he was amused I just blushed and looked away.

"Oh thank you then Shika-kun," I said smiling then it was his turn to blush than a woman who I presume is Shikamaru's mom walks in.

"I see your awake my name is Yoshino Shikamaru's mother" she smiled kindly at me.

"Thank you, Mrs.Nara I'm Haruko Hatake It's nice to meet you" I felt I was intruding so I wanted to be polite as possible

"It was no problem, you woke up just in time for dinner" I got up folded the blanket leaving it on the couch and joined the Nara family at the dinner table. I saw Shikaku-san and smiled

"It's nice to see you again Shikaku-san"

"Likewise, Haruko I see you went for a dip," he said with a wink I just blushed again

"yeah I guess you could say that I was actually practicing chakra control," I said rubbing the back of my neck when I found something missing 'My mask' I didn't really mind much I usually took it off when I wasn't being a ninja. The rest of the night went on with casual conversation about me.

"I never thought about it before, but how do you and Shikamaru know each other?" Yoshino-san asked with a sly smile

"In a grocery store, we were reaching for the same item when we bumped into each other," I said nonchalantly

"Sounds romantic you two would make a great couple" She gushed me and Shikamaru blushed looking away

"Shika-kun and I aren't a- "

"I'm only teasing you two," she said laughing after dinner Shikamaru and played shogi in the den. It was a tie every move he made I countered, and vice versa it went on like this for about an hour until we called it quits. Yoshino-san had folded my clothes and handed them to me I thanked them all one last time before I set off home 'Dad's gonna kill me' I arrive home and open the door as quietly as I can but no use dad is still on the couch reading his book.

"Haruko where have you been?" he said calmly

"I had dinner at the Naras" he then gave me an explain or your grounded look while I sighed getting ready for a long story.

"I was training at the oasis you suggested to me and after four hours I successfully walked on water I was tired and soaking wet so I decided to take a little nap then, Shikamaru Nara, my friend found me and didn't know where I lived and brought me to his house where his mom changed my clothes and gave me dinner," I said all in one breath 'it's not as long of a story as I thought '

"Ok but next time be careful as to not drain your chakra" I nodded and went to my room to go back to bed, my eyes closing with one last thought 'Shikamaru's clothes smell nice'
