We made our way back to the leaf once we were there Tsunade officially became Hokage and I got chewed out by the elders. Now I'm on suspension for a month 'What is their problem?' I grumbled on my way to visit Lee 'I hope he survives the surgery.' I thought grimly Lee was annoying, but he was still my eternal rival. I got in his room and saw him sleeping I also noticed a dead lily on his side table. Then on cue Kura-nee walked in with a new one.

"I-imouto!" She yelped quietly and I hugged her.

"I've missed you, you won't believe what happened," I said sheepishly. 'Should I tell her about the probation'

"What was it? Don't tell me Naruto did something again." She said getting her fist ready.

"No no it's me actually," I said backing away slowly. "I got put on probation for a month," I said and she fainted into my arms. I set her on the floor gently and grabbed the lily from her hand. I put it in the vase and took the old one out. I grabbed Sakura and hauled her to her house 'why is her house so far.' I finally get there and dropped her off with her mom.

"Thanks Haruko, want to stay for tea?" She asked me I was going to say yes, but I saw a messenger bird.

"No thank you another time" I said smiling and leaving through the door. I was walking to the office when I saw Shikamaru ahead. I ran up to him and jumped on his back he quickly wrapped his arms around my legs.

"I've missed you! I'm headed to the Hokages." I said kissing his cheek and burying my head in his hair.

"Me too, I'm headed there also" he said slightly smiling. We both got there and before he opened the door I hopped off his back. We walked in and Tsunade takes a big swig of her sake.

"Shikamaru Nara, Haruko Hatake as the fifth Hokage I'm promoting the two of you to chunin" she said ANBU came in and handed us our official flak jackets. "As the rules stated even if you didn't win it would be up to me if I wanted to promote you or not. I feel you two would make great chunin." She said giving me a wink I got really excited so I glomped Shika. Tsunade raised a brow in amusement while I practically choked him out.

"You two are cute together," she commented I put my arm around his shoulder and give a peace sign.

"Wait! Does this mean I'm off-" I started hopefully

"No you're not off of probation the elders have made it clear that I was to be very strict about it." She sighed and I went in the corner. 'Way to crush my dreams' I thought bitterly.

"Welp let's go celebrate Shika!" I popped up grabbing his hand "see you later Tsunade-sama." I looked back waving.

"Don't be so respectful kid it worries me" she yelled after me. We ended up at Shika's spot we laid down peacefully and I stared at the clouds.

"Probation?" Shika questioned with his eyes closed and I blushed.

"Yeah the elders put me on probation for a month, I don't know why though. Stupid elders I don't know what I'm going to do." I replied turning to face him he nodded keeping his eyes closed. 'I wonder what his hair looks like when it's down' I thought reaching for his hair tie. He grabbed my wrist and opened his eyes raising a brow. "Curious that's all," I said with a smirk and then he reached for my hair tie. I dodged and grabbed his hand raising my brow.

"I'm just curious," he said feigning innocence. We begin to go back and forth trying to take out each other's hair. I stop when I notice us moving giving him the perfect opportunity to snag my hair tie. We roll down the hill and I land on top of him with my hair curtaining down. "That's better" he smirked basking in the glory before I snagged his hair tie.

"Now that's better," I said stifling a giggle "you're so cute Shika." I said bursting out laughing and he just rolled his eyes.

"Troublesome woman," he muttered leaning in for a kiss.
