"Ugh spring break needs to be longer," Alana complained.

"I hear ya," even though sometimes her complaining annoyed me I kind of agreed with her this time. While I was up at the cabin with Tyler I felt, well, at peace like everything was working out between us. Maybe it was the nature around us or the spare time, but I was definitely happier up there with him than down here in the real world.

"Lets go out to the movies this Saturday," Alana suggested.

"O.K.," I guess she sensed the hesitation in my voice because she immediately said "we don't have finals for another few months. I think you can spare a few hours for a movie on a Saturday."

I laughed then went off to class. When school was over I went home and took a shower. I felt all icky for some reason. It wasn't until I got in the shower that I realized why I felt icky. I was on my "shark week" if you will. "Oh great" I mumbled to myself. I took a scalding hot shower, the heat always makes me feel better and cleaner for that matter, and I put my softest pajamas on and slipped into bed. It wasn't even five minutes before I started dozing off. I guess with the stress of the day I didn't realize the cramps. And it had really taken a toll on me because I was exhausted.

The next morning I got up but the pain in my back was so paralyzing that I fell back into bed. "Sweetie are you O.K.? You're usually the first one up."

"Mom I'm in so much pain," I said trying to hold back the tears. My cramps usually hit hardest at the beginning of the week, but usually when I was under a lot of stress or really busy with something they were even worse and would last the entire week.

"Do you want to stay home or do you want some ibuprofen and go on to school?" she asked.

"You know I'm not one for staying home but I think just this once would be O.K.," I said and I meant it because I hated missing school call me crazy but I actually want an education. She was about to leave to get me some medicine when I asked, "what happened to the Midol we had?"

"It finished but I'll get some more when I come home from work," she said with a warm smile. I loved my mom so much she was so understanding and caring and she was the one person I could go to for good sound advice. My dad was good too but you know he's a man and he wouldn't understand all my girl issues.

So I stayed home and at around twelve o'clock when I woke up from my nap I started getting hungry so I slowly walked down the stairs avoiding any sudden movements. When I finally got to the kitchen I poured myself some cereal and went to sit down on the couch. I switched on the T.V. and started flipping through channels and realized that there is absolutely nothing to watch during school hours. So I went to the movie channels and finally found a something to watch and it was one of my favorites too. The Hundred-foot Journey. It had just stared too. I settled down to watch it and about half way through I saw the time and it was about 1:15 and I decided to text Alana because I knew she would be at lunch

"Hey can you pick up my homework from my classes please'" I texted.

"Girl you got some explaining to do. Why in the world are you not here. You left me to deal with these neanderthals by myself?" she questioned.

"I'm sorry but I really wasn't feeling well this morning. As a matter of fact I'm still not feeling too great. So please could you leave the interrogation for when I'm not on my period," I texted.
