A New Life

50 years later...

"Len! Len!"

"Oh! Rin, what's the matter?"

"Kaito won't stop crying in his room! What's up with that? Was it some anime he watched or something? I never expected him to be such a crybaby"
(ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖

...I knew why, but Rin, the sister who was created those many years ago, didn't.
She was out of town when it happened and me and Kaito were afraid to tell her the truth...
So we both agreed to keep our mouths shut till it was the right time.
I knew one thing for sure though:
She was going to found out eventually and today was the day I had to tell her.
I grab her hand, softly smiling at her, trying hard to hold back my tears of sadness.
If Kaito wasn't going to do it, then I was going to do it myself.
Kaito is such a coward...but he was still a good brother to me.
Thank goodness (Y/n) was able to fix him back up after our incident those many years ago.
You know, the one with (F/n) being crazy and all, turning me into a killing machine that killed Kaito once and then tried making me kill my own creator.
(F/n) was gone however, she just ran away and no one, not even us knew where she went.
As me and Rin took the bus downtown, I stared out the window the whole time, wondering how time went by so fast.
I still remember the memories of when I first woken up and found myself in this world...and then my creator standing in front of me, smiling as she reached out her hand and welcomed me.
I then remembered when she took me to the music shop and I received my first gift from the first human...
A piano key guitar, which I still play to this day.
(Y/n) loved it when I would play her songs and I would sing to her.
She would sing along too...and it always made my heart jump with joy.
Unfortunately, we can't sing our sweet duets anymore.
As me and Rin got off the bus and onto the sidewalk, we began walking with me leading the way, but with every step I took, I felt getting heavier and heavier.
Rin stares at me, confused as to where we were going.

"Len? What's going on? Where we going? This isn't where (Y/n)'s work is-"

"Just keep following me, Rin...we're almost there"

...but I wish that we weren't.
As we continued walking, I remember one memory when (Y/n) took me to the ice cream shop and from there, she got me a Banana Split Sundae, one of the best things I've ever tasted my whole life.
Unfortunately, she couldn't have sweet things anymore.
As we made it to the entrance gates, Rin freezes, her blue eyes widening at the sight of our destination.

"...A graveyard?"

"...Yes, Rin"

"W-Why are we here? Where's (Y/n)?"

"..."

I hold her hand tightly as we entered the cemetery, my sensor scanning for the location of our old creator, (Y/n).
As I followed the trail, I felt my hands and legs trembling with every step and my breathing was getting funny.
Memories began flashing by, one by one:
Me and (Y/n) reuniting and starting a new life after I remembered who she was.
Me and (Y/n) writing songs to sing in the future.
Me watching (Y/n) created a new android or sister I should say.
Me and (Y/n) getting married...despite me being an android and her being a human, she still loved me for who I really was and it made me feel so special...
As the years passed, her hair began turning grey and her face was getting wrinkles.
Every year, she would get weaker and weaker...that's why she was forced to stop creating these great inventions.
I forced her to stop so she would feel better...
I should've known her life wasn't going to last forever.
I still remember holding her hand that was slowly turning cold as her (e/c) eyes fluttered shut and the last thing she gave me was that bright smile of hers...and then the machine stopped beeping.
We then made it, right in front of her new home...a grave with her name on it and the flowers I have brought her everyday surrounding it.
Rin fell to her knees as she stared straight at the grave, her expression filled with shock.

"She's...gone?"

"Yes, Rin...she's gone, she died while you were gone"

"W-Why...? Why did she die?"

"She was getting old, Rin...she's not an android like us, she's human. Humans die of old age, Rin, it's a normal thing..."

"W-Why didn't you tell me? Was that why Kaito was crying in his room all day?!"

"...Unfortunately yes...he loved (Y/n) so much...but he knew that we were married so he became happy for us. Now that she's gone...our happiness is gone, his happiness is gone...but I know that she's in a better place now, better than here in this cruel world we call earth"

...I didn't notice that tears were now falling down my face and onto the ground, wetting the grass.
Rin saw this...and she cried too.
She has never cried before, so this was a surprise to me.
She has emotions too...just like a human.
As I hugged her, trying to calm her down, I stare up at the clear blue skies, the sun warming my wet face.
And from what I saw on my sensor...
I thought I saw (Y/n) staring down at us from a place called "the heavens" and she was smiling right at me...
I then smiled back, for I was grateful that we fell in love and honestly, I hoped that one day I would meet her there so we could be reunited again. From my experience these past years, every love story I've seen is beautiful, but ours was my favorite and it would always be my favorite...a human and an android~
