"Wait your dad's coming, act sad!"

"Get back here, Aubree!" He yells.
I grip the knife, shaking as tears fall down my cheeks; I hold my breath as I hide under the stairs, curled tightly in a ball so he can't see me.
I see his feet pass by the door, his shadow blocking the only line of light there is. Please pass by... Please pass by...
I close my eyes and exhale shakily, thinking he's gone. I slowly open my eyes and scream as his face is inches from mine, a sadistic smirk on his lips. "I found you."
I wake with a start, gasping for air as my chest feels like it has a cinderblock on it. Tears stream down my face as I lay panting and shaking, sweat dripping down my forehead. This is why I don't sleep, this is why I refuse to close my eyes and dream.
"Hey, hey it's okay." Bailey rushes in.
I throw myself at him without thinking, crying softly into him as he holds me close, sitring on my bed. "He found me Bailey." I sob in a whisper.
"Shh it's okay, no he didn't. He's gone, I promise you. Gone forever." He says softly as his hand rubs my back, soothing me and making it easier to breathe. Dad showed him and Cooper that in order to calm me down.
"Why can't I get rid of him!" I sob as I hit his chest.
"You have got rid, Aubree. He is never ever coming back, okay?" He cups my face and I look into his green eyes - the same eyes we all have.
I hiccup and nod small as I copy his breathing, slowly calming down. I sniffle. "I-im sorry." I whisper.
"It's okay." He smiles gently as he climbs under the covers, pulling me with him. "Come on, dork, you need to sleep."
I sigh and cuddle into him. "You're forgiven, crap bag." I smile gently up at him.
"Thanks, Dragon." He smirks.
It's quiet for a while and eventually I hear Bae snoring beside me, his arm still flung around my shoulder. I look over and see it's almost 5am, meaning I have to be up soon anyway. I smile small as I carefully slide out from his grip and tuck him up, kissing his head. He's forgiven, of course he is.
I turn the bath on and add some bubble bath, leaning on the counter as the water runs. I glance down at my bare legs showing from my shorts; the scars on my inner thighs make me shudder a little. Do not think about it, Aubree.
I sink into the water with a sigh, only going to my shoulders so my hair stays dry. Today's my last day of my 10 day trial meaning I find out this afternoon if they're keeping me on or not - I've fallen in love with the job so I pray they do.
I drag myself out after about 20 minutes and wrap my fluffy towel around myself, glaring out of the bathroom window. I see something move in the shadows of the trees at the side of our yard; squinting to look closer I gasp. A wolf?!
I lean against the window but the figure is gone, leaving me confused. Did I really just see a wolf? I must be insane. There aren't wolves this close to town, no way Aubree. I exhale slowly and shake my head - idiot.
I grab my black jeans and black sweater, slipping them on, before I do some light eyeliner and red lipstick. I curl my hair loosely and spray some perfume, heading downstairs. I make dad and I a coffee as he comes into the kitchen, chewing cereal loudly.
