Miara's POV
My Dad drove me to school for once in his life. I was silent the whole way there because he was talking to one of his clients. My mum died when I was seven and my dad works 24/7 so I'm used to this.
When I arrive at a school I drop off my stuff at my locker and push pass everyone. I don't mean to be rude but they were in the way.
When I finally get there I scan around the classroom to see an empty seat.
I spot one in the middle row, beside it there's an excited girl. I guess she is quite an energetic person.
I walk up to the seat and the girl excitedly says hello.
"Hello!" Says the excited girl, now giggling. I put on a small smile and try to reply.
"Uhh.... hi?" I struggle to utter a word because of my shyness to new people.
"You're new aren't you! I'm Lola!" She says, still smiling.
"I'm Miara, nice to meet you."
"Can we be friends?!" She asked wearing what I imagine is her 'winning smile'.
"That's okay with me I guess," I say with the tiniest bit of hope.
"Yay! It's always great to get new friends!" She exclaims as the teacher walks in to teach obviously.
*time skip to lunch brought to you by yours truly*
Lunch! That means after this I have drama. Lola seems to have pretty much the same timetable as me, Weird.
I buy a ceaser salad and Lola gets a wrap. Lola is very forward and straight to the point, I'm noticing. Not saying that's a bad thing! She asks if we could hang out on Wednesday or any other day. She really likes making new friends I guess.
"Sure I'm free on Wednesday," I say, hoping she will be free as well.
"Good! We can go shopping!" She says. It's weird it's like you can see the excitement in her eyes.
"Oh okay," I say, focusing my attention on my salad.
Third person
A mysterious boy wearing a dark green coat enters the cafeteria.
Lola bends over the table to whisper to Miara as she is noticing she is looking at him and her face is tinted a slight pink.
"That's Reuben Reid. He's in my science class" Lola whispered, smiling at her new friend.
"Oh, that's cool," Miara replies, wondering how someone can be so cute.
"I heard from Becca Brookes that he's been in two different schools in the span of a year!" Lola whispers, recalling what the girl told her earlier. Lola was always quite the person to love gossip and rumours.
Miara's POV
Oh my gosh! That Reuben guy is kinda cute. No no no no! This can't be happening! I have a crush on Reuben Reid!
