I'm on holidays! So sorry about missing a few weeks. Now let's get on with the chapter, shall we?Miara's POV
I start to feel a bubble rising in my throat. How? Just how? How can the guy that I have tried to hide my feelings from here in front of me saying that he is the person behind the notes! I jump on to a nearby wall and sit down and Reuben sits beside me, raking his fingers through his hair.
"Lola never told me how to tell you," He laughs, looking down at his hands.
"Wait, what? Lola?" I ask, confused at the mention of my best friend.
"Yeah, Lola tried to form me into the 'perfect secret admirer'," He quotes,
"Because you deserve the best and only the best!"I playfully and lightly slap his arm, giggling at his sudden cuteness. Wait, me, Miara Elizabeth Glen giggled! That is something you don't see every day.
"I really do like you Miara," He says, his chocolate brown eyes looking into my emerald ones.
"Why, why do you like me?" I ask him.
"You're nice, funny and you have a great personality." He lists, counting all the reasons he likes me.
"Lies," I mumble, looking away from him. He must of hear me and pulls me into a tight hug, a hug that I want to stay in forever.
"Don't say that ever again," He starts, "It breaks my heart." He says that last bit quieter than the rest of the sentence. He lets me get out of the hug after a good 3 minutes and jumps off the wall. He reaches his hand and as I grab it he pulls me down off the wall on to my feet. He runs, his hand intertwined with mine. Weirdly enough, the park is completely empty so we try to climb the trees and no-one can judge us. Just me and him here, climbing trees and watching the world go by. I take out my phone and take a few pictures.
There is a reason why it's called Cherry Blossom Park. I show him the pictures I took and he liked them.
"I just had a thought," He started, "What if we went to Starbucks!"
I laugh at his idea. I mean our relationship started on Starbucks dates! I gave him a smile and accept. That's the reason I like him so much. He always makes me smile, he makes me forget about Luna and especially my dad. We walk out of Cherry Blossom Park and go to Starbucks. He holds my hand as we walk. Like since when did he act so cute around me? I wonder how someone I've been crushing over for ages likes me! Disgusting me!
Third Person
Miara and Reuben get to Starbucks five minutes later. The walked there in silence, a comfortable silence may I add. Miara ordered a simple Iced Tea and Reuben ordered a Latte. They flirted and talked for a while and everything was going great until they see a dark blue haired girl walking over to them with an angry look on her face.
"What are you doing with that bitch Reuben?" Luna asks, trying to give him a flirty look but ends up looking constipated. Reuben starts to get angry.
"How dare she call Miara a female dog!" He thought, his hands balling up into fists.
Miara, on the other hand, started to worry. "She said she'll make my life a living hell!" She remembered, recalling what the dark blue haired girl told her. She bit her fingers until she noticed specs of blood around her nail. She wiped the blood off her fingers onto her napkin and noticed Reuben starting to yell at Luna. Luna threw a hissy fit and said things like 'How dare you like this whore!' and
'That's not fair! You're supposed to like me!' Reuben grabbed Miara's wrists gently so he didn't hurt her and gave Luna the middle finger and walked off with Miara, hand in hand."You didn't have to do that Reuben," Miara mumbled, looking down at her cute cat boots. Reuben then went and cupped her cheek with his hand, looking deep into her now teary eyes. He wiped the tear forming in her eye and shook his head.
"I'll never stop standing up for you remember that," Reuben said, then Miara laid her head on his shoulder and started to cry.
Reuben let her cry on his shoulder for a while. They were sitting on a bench in a park and were starting to get strange looks but Reuben didn't care. All he cared about was the girl in his arms. As she moved away from Reuben, Miara wiped her face and took out her phone to see how ugly she looked. Even with makeup, Miara hated her face. She got out a wipe to get off all the running makeup. She turned back to Reuben and then felt a rush of adrenaline in her veins and looked him straight in the eyes and moved closer to him and filled the gap between them. As she felt his lips on hers she thought about how everything turned out. How the boy she was crushing on for weeks is now kissing her.
Reuben couldn't put his finger on why he didn't make the move but she did. He couldn't believe the girl he saw talk down to herself all the time suddenly kissing him. He just couldn't believe it. He then she kissed back when they both pulled away. He simply didn't want it to end. Miara pulls away slowly and holds his hand and puts her head on his shoulder. She knew it was getting late. She knew her father would wonder where she was but she didn't want to go. She didn't want to go back to the harsh reality. She didn't want the voices to come back. But everything must end.
Reuben's POV
I don't want the night to end but it has to. I walk her home, which isn't that far away from where we are but takes longer than it should. We walk slower than usual so it lasts longer but we get to her house in 10 minutes. We get to her gate when she asks the burning question that we both wanted to ask each other.
"What are we, Reuben?"
"I don't know. What do you want us to be?" I ask her.
"I want us to be together," she admits, looking up at me. How did I never notice how pretty she is?
"Then that's what we are," I say, pulling her closer to me. I fill the gap between us and quickly pull away. I wave goodbye and she walks into her house. Smiling. That's one of the reasons I love about her. Her smile.
I love this chapter!! Mainly because Miara x Reuben is canon! I just love it. What do you guys like about them dating? What do you think Lilith and Lola will think? See ya next time!
