Mirror shelter

You were drinking a cup of hot tea with Lydia and the twins after a good long nap and something to eat, you've already sent a message for Kougyoku to meet you here.

In your message you had made it clear that she can't tell anyone where she is going or who she is going to meet except Kouen.

Rea was about to leave when suddenly you all heard a loud thump from above. You cautiously made your way up the stairs but came to a halt as you heard the voice of the intruder.

" Damn! The floor is so sliperry around here!!!!" The person whined, your heart almost stopped beating and without much thinking you ran back down, when you entered the room where Lydia and the twins were, panic was written all over your face.

"Judal's here!!!" You whispered and Lydia's eyes widened as the twins closed the door behind you and went to a dark corner that you hoped would save you.

Lydia looked around but saw nothing that could provide a better shelter for you three and began to panic as well.

Suddenly her gaze fell on her favorite hand mirror, an idea came to mind but she wasn't sure if you'd agree.

" What if all three of you hide in here?" She asked and pointed at the mirror.

" How?" Celene asked back and Lydia used a spell on you three, one moment you were in the manor's guest salon and the next in an empty large space who's only light source was a round circle that reflected Lydia's worried face.

" I'll bring you out once he leaves, until then stay there and don't get too close to the light." She adviced and you nodded, as she placed the mirror on the table, you backed away from the light hoping that Judal wouldn't see you in there.

You looked around, it was a black and blue endless room, you wondered if that's what all mirrors looked like when you were in the opposite side.

"Who would have thought that we would go through so much trouble just to escape two psychopaths?!" Celene exclaimed and Rea nodded in agreement.

" Maybe the wedding is a bad idea, maybe we must break the engagement. That way they might calm down." She proposed and you looked at her desperate.

"Or they might become even more determent to get me. If they act like that now... what would they be like if I do take back the engagement deal?" You asked and it wasn't hard to imagine, they'd probably be the same as now or worse.

" But we can't go on hiding forever!" Rea protested.

" You girls don't need to. The one they're after is me. You girls can go back to the palace and get everything ready for my coronation. I'll be there for the ceremony and after that..."

" After that... what? Please my lady, speak." Celene begged.

"Then we're having the wedding. Kouen was right, the wedding must take place the day after my coronation. I can't risk losing everything because of these two." You answered with determination and suddenly you heard yelling, it was Judal... he was furious.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE NOT HERE?!"

"I answered your question, princess (Name) isn't here. If she was you'd have seen her by now. My home is a mess because of you now."

"Then how is it possible that you have three more tea cups here."

"I had guests, just because I live here doesn't mean I don't socialize. I was about to clean up when you barged in. Quite rudely too I must say." Lydia answered calmly and you were impressed with her ability to sound and look so honest about such a big lie.

Judal growled and if you had to guess he was glaring at Lydia.

"If you're lying to me.... I swear I'll demolish this creepy mannor and sent you to hell, you old hag!"

" Mind your manners, young one. Besides, you've searched every corner and found nothing, you said so yourself." Lydia replied sternly and Judal huffed.

The next thing you three saw was his face as he raised the mirror and looked at his reflection, unaware that you were looking at him as well, you stepped further into the darkness slowly, hoping he hadn't caught on to what Lydia had done. He gazed at the glass surface for a minute before looking at Lydia again, this time his eyes cold and calm.

"Anyway, if you find her I want to know at once."

"Why?"

"That is none of your buisness." He hissed, his voice becoming colder by the minute.

" You're in love with her, aren't you? How pitifull." Lydia mocked after taking the mirror from the magi.

Judal glared at her, proving that she was right. Lydia hummed and sat down and looked at him, making fun of him with her eyes alone.

" Shut up."

"Don't bother hiding your affections for her, (Name) is indeed a very beautifull girl but she's not that easy to catch. If she was, many of the suitors she had in the past would have achieved their goal to marry her by now. If you're going to behave like them, she might as well consider you a bother, or worse". Lydia went on as she looked in the mirror, giving a satisfied smile once she was sure no one could see you.

" Like she has a choice in the matter. She will be mine." Judal growled darkly.

"Don't push your luck, boy. (Name) is pretty but that doesn't mean she's also stupid. If you've given her a bad impression, you can be sure that she'll never accept your feelings for her." Lydia retorted and Judal's eyes showed that her words had affected him.

You wondered if he really loved you all that much. If it was not obsession as you thought but actual, genuine love.

Without another word he left the room and the mannor as well. Once Lydia was certain he was gone for good she used another spell to get the three of you out of the mirror.

"That wasn't a very pleasant experience." You admitted and Lydia smiled at you.

"I hope I was able to help you."

"Of course Lydia, you were a great help." You assured her and the twins nodded in agreement.

"I suggest you stay here. Since the magi saw you were not here, I doubt that he'll be back any time soon."

"I will take you up on the offer. Thank you." You agreed and then.... you heard a knock on the door.

All of you jumbed suprised and gazed at the door the same way a deer looks at a wolf. You were thinking that maybe you should attack and get it over with. In all honesty you were at your limit with all this.

" Excuse me, is anybody home?" A female voice called out and you recognized the newcomer. You opened the door to see Kougyoku standing alone and looking at you with a smile.

"I swear, if you hadn't called out to us, I might have charged at you." You confessed and made way for her to enter.

You closed the door and decided to finally tell her what she had missed because she had done her own tour around town to find you.

It was time to get back into action.
