yuta stared at lucas from head to toe. i mean, he seems like a really nice guy, but a defensive one too - over someone he only met how many hours ago? lucas stared back at yuta, and jane could feel the tension rising. first of all, she didn't even KNOW yuta like that, and she didn't even WANT to see lucas. this is where she needed seulgi and sana. she didn't want to talk to lucas, she came here for yuta, but it's not his fault, she knew he just wanted coffee.

"quit staring.." she said to the two of them. "let's go somewhere else yuta."

"was he bothering you just now?" yuta asked.

"i just came for coffee, you think i came here to start something? and i have my own people to meet," lucas intercepted.

"really? because i saw jane and she seemed VERY bothered. if you have your own people to meet then stick with them, don't leech onto other peop-"

"he- he wasn't bothering me at all. in fact,

i don't even know him," she said straightforward, the lies wrapping around her tongue. if she wanted to move on, she had to pretend like this. she was so determined to start afresh with someone new.

lucas shifted his eyes towards jane, and there was evident pain painted on his face, and even slightly on her's too. guilt washed over him as he recalled every single memory they had to together, but it was erased by the memory of him lying to her five years ago. yuta looked back at lucas, as if he was asking him to clarify what she had just said.

"well..?" yuta said.

lucas' gaze went back to yuta's. "what? you heard her," he continued. "we don't know eachother." and with that, lucas swiftly left the café, gradually picking up his pace. he felt familiar with the feeling, letting her down, feeling guilt, but not doing anything about it.

that was who lucas was.
