"when the loneliness
pierces through me,
if you see my tears,
please act like you didn't."
- i'm okay, ikon.

yuta watched jane leave after saying goodbye and kissing her forehead, which had a scar that still wasn't properly healed. he felt little to no regret or pity as he heard her sniffing, but of course he covered it up with a facade. the door shut and he was left alone.

"i did tell her that she could break up with me. i did tell her she could leave me," he thought to himself. "i gave her a warning. a precise one. she could've left me... but she didn't. so really and truly, is it my fault? i guess not... i gave her a chance."

yuta tried to give himself closure. he tried to put the blame on someone else, and it worked.

jane waited a few days for her scar to heal. it wasn't completely gone, but nevertheless, it was now more easier to lie about the origin. the thing was, how exactly was she going to lie though? she shook that thought off and left it for when the time actually came to explain, and she travelled to the office. nervous? an understatement. fashion week was soon approaching, and jane just missed one of the most important meetings of her life. lets not forget to mention how lucas, sana, and seulgi were worried to hell. jane was definitely going to get scolded by more than one person.

all because of him.

there was something inside of her that told her to run from yuta; to leave him, but how much would it cost her? more bruises?

she walked down the corridors to miss park's office, and she walked passed her own, where she saw a glimpse of sana. she felt guilt in her because she knew that sana truly cared for her. how would she feel if she found out what was happening to her?

her knocks interrupted the train of thought. the door was opened, and there was miss park.

"jane, i see you've decided to join us again," miss park muttered with a hint of annoyance in her tone.

"miss park, i don't know where to begin... i'm just so sorry that— miss park?" jane stopped as she looked up at her boss who was looking at her weirdly.

miss park no longer had anger in her face. it was all replaced with worry. it was the face of a mother looking at her broken child.

"wh-what happened, jane? is that why you were gone?"

"uh... yes miss park... again i am very sorr—"

miss park pulled jane into a tight, and genuine hug.

"jane... where did that scar come from?"

jane took just a second to think about a valid response; she didn't let her panic show, because if she did, there would've been consequences.

"i was with my boyfriend that morning, and i had fallen down the stairs. i was knocked out for a few hours but luckily, my boyfriend brought me to the hospital. it doesn't hurt anymore," jane replied almost too perfectly, as if it was rehearsed.

"oh, jane... be more careful next time, okay?"

"yes, miss park. so what was the meeting about? i'll catch up on things as soon as possible!" jane said enthusiastically with a smile.
