Simba paced, unable to find another way to dismiss his fury. "What would that prove anyways? My father and honour have already died." He clutched his hair and paced, he then looked up at the night sky, coated with stars in some shame as Timon had mocked him for it but he tried his father's advice.
However instead of seeking guidance, he took out his buried anger. "You know you said you'd always be there for me!" He shouted at the great kings. He collapsed on a log when he heard his voice echo back to him. "But you're not.. It's just me out here.." He groaned to himself.
He sniffled and hiccuped. "You're not.. And it's all my fault.." He whimpered helplessly. "It's my... Fault.." He mirrored himself and then he felt a gentle hand stroke his shoulder. "Hey.. Relax." River's voice soothed him in a way, though even after a heavy argument he felt guilty for 'cheating' on his one time hookup.
"Just tell me what's wrong." She now wanted to help him rather than seduce him after seeing him hurt. "Look.. I don't know.. I don't want to talk about it River." He'd respired then glanced to River who rubbed her split ends with her finger tips into a ball like a small piece of play-doh. "It's not good for you to bottle this up." She advised.
His glance became a scowl that scared her off. "I mean.. Whenever you're ready." Instead of disappearing on him, she let him see her walk away. He sighed, feeling alone as his father once warned. He choked on up his tears as he used a stick to gently swirl the water. A pebble tossed in the water disturbed his peace.
He looked in irritation at a rather active old man sitting on a log at the tree singing and clapping with a stick of rattle snake rattle tails. "Asnte sana, squash banana, we we nugu, mi mi apana!" He giggled and snorted.
"Oh will you cut it out? Trying to have some peace and quiet for once." Simba complained and waddled off the log. Rafiki let out an extension of his laugh with a "Wreeeeeehooooo.." As he hopped down, shaking his rattle. "Can't cut it out! It'll grow right back!" He joked pathetically as he tailed Simba.
"Crazy old man.. Could you stop following me? Who even are you?" Simba scoffed. "The real question is.." Rafiki slid in front of Simba and raised his neck up. "Whooo are you?" He tapped his nose as his mother did when he was a baby.
Simba's pause for reaction took too long. "I guess I'm a little lost on that right now.." Simba sighed in despair. "Well I know who you are! Come.. It's a secret." Rafiki grinned as he pulled his ear. "Asante sana squash banana we we nugu mi mi apana!" He cackled freakishly as Simba pushed him away.
"I don't have time for this. What does that even mean?" He face palmed. "It means you're the baboon.. And I'm not! You sure have time for questionable conduct young man." He giggled for longer and pranced behind Simba.
"I thought you're a little confused upstairs.." Simba rolled his eyes only feeling a sudden jerk to his shirt. "Wrong! I'm not the one who's confused, you don't even know.. who you are!" He quickly finished. "Psh, yeah.. And I supposed you know?" He smirked sarcastically. "I know exactly who you are." Rafiki slapped the stick against Simba's behind.
"Hey!" He turned around. "You're Mufasa's boy!" He said with power. Simba gasped, looking back at the grandpa with crazy makeup. "Bye!" He scurried away.
"Hey wait!" Simba chased the man endlessly, only to find him in lotus position on a rock. Simba hesitated to interrupt the meditation but finally after catching his breath he blurted out- "You knew my father?" He almost begged to hear a biography.
"Correction! I know your father." Rafiki held up one finger as he spoke. Simba took a few deep breaths to avoid crying. "Look-look I hate to tell you this.. But he.. Died.. A long time ago.." He choked. Rafiki saw the despair in the young man's eyes and knew this was worth a shot.
"Wrong again! He's alive! And I'll show him to you!" Just with those words, he saw hope glow in his eyes. "Here.. Take this." Rafiki placed a large pill in Simba's palm. "Drugs? You want me to get high?" Simba lifted an eyebrow in suspicion.
"Oh no no son, these are not just any drugs.. You trust old Rafiki, he knows what to do!" Rafiki insisted. 'Anything for you father..' Simba thought, took a deep breath and dry swallowed.
Moments in, and he could feel his world start turning. He could see all his loved ones overwhelm him with speech, he got a migraine but couldn't think straight enough to think of what a mistake he made. "Simba! Simba! Simba!" They all echoed trying to speak to him before his world turned black.
