Justin's POV

"That's the house?" Selena asked looking straight ahead from where we were parked.

"Yup." I said popping the 'p'.

It was now around noon and we were in my car, looking right at my dad's house. I had never felt so anxious and nervous in my life. Sleeping was a struggle last night. I kept waking up every hour because my nerves were on high. But everytime that I would see Selena in my arms, peacefully asleep, it calmed me down. The ride to my dad's was about 45 minutes long, and we had to drop Gracie off at my mom's before coming here. Which left me with more time to think. More like overthink, because I didn't know what was ahead of me.

"Justin?" Selena said knocking me out of my thoughts.

"Yes?" I said still looking straight forward.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"Nothing."

"Then why have we been parked here for like five minutes." She chuckled. "Are you okay?"

"I'm really nervous Sel. I haven't seen this guy in like over a decade."

"Justin." She took a hold of my hand. "Everything is going to be alright. Whatever happens, happens for a reason. And I'll be right by your side through everything. Okay?" She reassured me.

I turned to look at her, with a comforting smile. I held tightly onto her hand.

"Thank you so much Sel." I said as we both leaned and kissed at the same time.

I took in a deep breath and let it out before actually having the guts to get out of the car. I took a hold of the handle and opened the door, letting all of the Californian sunlight in.

"Okay let's go." Sel said checking up one more time in the rear view mirror and getting out of the car.

I got out and shut the door behind me. I walked over to Selena and took her hand before we made our way up to the door. Without even bothering to think, I rung the doorbell. Seconds later, the door opened.

"Hi!" A small, blonde haired boy, who seemed around 5, appeared from behind the door.

I was taken back. Why was some little kid in my dad's house. 'Is this even the right house?' I thought to myself. Before I could speak, my questions were answered.

"Jaxon! I told you to stay in your room!" I heard my dad's voice from the distance within the house.

"I'm confused." Selena whispered, leaning over.

"Don't worry.. So am I." I whispered back.

"Justin." My dad finally appeared in the doorway, with a smile.

I could almost feel everything about this moment pause, as I took a good look at my dad for the first time, after over a decade. His tattoos were somewhat faded, his voice was older and deeper. He looked more built, but his eyes looked weary and exhausted. And as usual, he was taller. No matter how long I looked at him, or noticed his features, I couldn't believe it was him. I was going through too many emotions to even react.

Before I could answer him, he opened up his arms, and pulled me into a long, waited for hug. I felt myself almost as if shaking in his arms. I couldn't process this moment.

He patted my back. "I'm so glad you made it." His voice shook from his emotions.

I stayed quiet through the hug. I was speechless. Letting go off the hug, he looked at me, almost as if waiting for a response.
