I stood at the end of the room, shifting uncomfortably. We were supposed to start my introduction a while ago, but someone is running late.
"We'll go ahead and start. Someone can bring Mr. Haar up to speed when he gets here." The principal suggested. No one objected the idea, allowing us to finally start.
"Officer Rachel. Would you mind introducing the new officer?"
"Of course." She motioned me forward. I did my best to ignore the stars that the staff were giving me. "This is Officer Goldak. He'll be taking over my position by the end of the year."
"You're leaving us?"
"No. I'll be working at student services." She responded.
Everyone in the room began to introduce themselves, stating their name and position.
I saw someone slip into the room, and stand in the back. They were male, about 5'6", and cute. I meant handsome! Not cute, handsome. How can a guy be cute?
"Officer Goldak." The sound of my name snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?"
"I asked if you would like a tour of the building." Mr. Karz, the principal, told me. "Mr. Haar wouldn't mind." Which one was Mr. Haar?
"Alright." I agreed, looking around the room. The man at the back walked towards the door, a smile playing at his lips. Of course it was the handsome guy. Should've known.
"That concludes today's meeting. Have a nice day, everyone." Mr. Karz dismissed.
"Meet me in the Commons, after your tour." Officer Rachel ordered. "We still have to go over a few things."
"Will do." I grinned, walking past her. I strolled up to Mr. Haar. "Ready?"
"We'll start with the manufacturing wing." He informed. I tried to be polite and make eye contact, but as soon as our eyes met he turned away from me.
