Chapter 3

The school was surprisingly large for a public school. We were a little late as we had to walk but arrived in time before the bell tolled. That 'first day of school' feel finally hit me and I took a deep breath before continuing to walk into the main building with Virgil.

He took me to the main office where I was greeted by a lovely student by the name of Joan. They showed me around the place and opened my eyes to what... a horrible place this really was...

Litter was thrown left, right and centre. Joan got hit in the head with an apple core! What is it with this school and apples... It astounded me that this was the standard behaviour of the pupils. However, despite the abruptive attitude of the community, Virgil seemed relaxed and at ease around Joan. They appeared to get along and it brought a smile to my face to know that Virgil had a friend.

The bell tolled once more. Joan turned to face me and held my hand firmly and shook it quite vigorously. "Lovely to meet you [F/N] !"

"I didn't... tell you my name Joan."

Joan looked at me puzzled and then just started to laugh. "Virgil told me!"

I shot a look to Virgil and he rolled his eyes and gave a low 'hmph'. Joan held their arm towards classroom 3B and after another energetic handshake, they were off.
