Dark Authority [Virgil x Reader]

Chapter 10

I arrive at my study period and see Terrence and Joan waiting for me. They give me wide smiles and wave me over towards them. I happily abide and sit with them. Terrence ruffles my hair. "How you doing F/N?".

I lower my smile a little and reply with "Could be better if I'm being honest". I let out a small laugh to take the seriousness of the statement.

"You do look a little less... well, you", Joan states.

"I'll be fine. Let's just go over this drama work". They both look at each other with concern before looking towards the work we anticipate to complete.

You have a good study session with Terrence and Joan. You have a good laugh and they seem to really lighten your mood. You finish the study period and realise you have no other lessons. You decide to look for Virgil and ask if he will go home early with you.

I send Virgil a text.

F/N: Hey Virgil. I've finished all my lessons now. If you have no other lessons, do you wanna walk home early with me?

I stroll outside and sit at a bench outside, awaiting a reply. 

A few minutes later, my phone buzzes and I smile lightly as I see Virgil has replied. 

Virgil: erm yeah sure. wait outside the school gates for me and i'll meet you there in a minute. got something to deal with.

I smile once again and lock my phone, sliding it in my pocket as I stand.

I wait outside the gate for not even 30 seconds when he runs out of the main entrance of the school. He gives me a scared look and shouts, "RUN!".

I start to panic and waves my hands about. "Run?! WHY?!". 

He runs straight at me, grabs my hand and drags me with him. I break into a sprint and we dart away from the school. I turn my head and see no other than Marcus and his friends chasing us. They begin to pick up speed. "WHY ARE THEY CHASING US?!", I shouted.

Virgil turns his head towards me whilst still sprinting for his life. "Just keep running!"

We continue to run away from Marcus as he screams at us from behind. My legs start to ache and I feel the strain on my body. I start to slow down and Virgil turns to me, his eyes wide. "What are you doing? Come on!".

"I can't... run... anymore...", I slowly state. He begins to slow down also and  we stop. A sigh escapes his lips and he looks down to see he is still holding my hand. Aggressively, he tugs his hand away. "Sorry...", he mutters.

I give an exhausted smile. Shouts grow closer as we both turn to see Marcus approach us.

"Got tired, did you? What a shame".

I clench my fists lightly. "What... What do you want Marcus...?", I steadly question. His face has "pissed" written all over it and he cracks his knuckles.

"Why don't you ask your boyfriend F/N?" I roll my eyes and look at Virgil who looks like he is about to have a melt down.

"I can explain F/N...".
