Virgil is sitting at the table while I fetch some ice. I place a small towel down and plant some ice in the centre. I wrap it up and seal it with a hair tie. I walk to the table and hand him the ice package. He slowly places it against his eye and hisses quietly as it makes contact. "Can I get you a drink?"
"I'm good, but thanks for the offer", Virgil politely replies.
"Are you sure? You want any food?"
He let's out a soft laugh and looks me directly. "Honestly, I'm fine F/N".
I smile as I see the spark in his eyes relight once more. "Well ok then. I can walk you home in a bit if you'd like".
A look of worry spreads over his face and he shakes his head. "I'll just get someone to pick me up. It's fine".
I nod in agreement. He picks up his phone and calls someone. "Hey Logan, it's Virgil. Would you be able to pick me up from a friends house in a bit?" He goes quiet as 'Logan' speaks. "Oh I er... I got into a fight and we went back to theirs to get some ice. Yeah, I will. Thanks. See you later". He hangs up and sighs. "He said yeah". I smile warmly.
We discuss plans for the rest of our afternoon. We decide to chill on the couch and watch The Lion King. When Simba's dad dies, I begin to cry. "I always cry at this bit... It's so sad!". I wipe my eyes with my sleeve and as I look over to Virgil, I see that he is crying to. Virgil has a soft spot for Disney films?! I ruffle his hair lightly. "Who knew big ol' Virgil would cry at Lion King!" He look down in embarrassment. I chuckle lightly. " Come here you big softie" I smile and sarcastically say, "I'll be your shoulder to cry on!". I gently guide his head onto my shoulder. He rests his head on my shoulder and we continue to watch the film.
A few minutes pass and his head feels heavier on my shoulder. I look down. He's fallen asleep... I smile gently and slowly grab the remote to turn the TV off. "Wouldn't wanna wake you now, would we?", I whisper softly. A smile grows on my face. I bid him sweet dreams before resting my head on the back of the couch and close my eyes. I feel my cheeks grow warm as I blush...
I love him...
