Love?

"I love you."

You did a double take, shaking your head as your mouth fell agape. Love? What was that? Well, of course you knew what it was, but it seemed like a lie. To be honest, you didn't know if he meant as a friend or something more, but you didn't seem to believe either. So instead, you played coy to avoid embarrassment by thinking the wrong thing.

You tilted your head slightly and cocked an eyebrow at the man who was now flushed and sweaty.

"What are you talking about, Karamatsu-Kun?" You were genuinely confused and so scared of making a fool of yourself in front of the man.

"I love y-you...." He said with a barely noticeable stutter and small voice crack. He seemed so out of character as he continued, "As in a.... ah- how do I put this....? Romantic sense....?"

He let go of your hand and you couldn't help but look down at the now free palm. You were at a loss for words. I mean he was just joking, right? He couldn't ever love someone like you, right? Karamatsu stood up and scratched the back of his head with a small chuckle.

"Sorry... I knew I shouldn't have told you... This was a mistake..." He stuttered, placing his sunglasses over his eye to hide the fact that he was tearing up. He began walking away from you, causing you to let out a strangled call out to him.

"W-wait! Kara!" You pleaded, reaching your hand out towards him.

"N-no... It's okay... I told you too early. No need to tell me the answer if I already know it!" He insisted, continuing to walk away.

"Kara please!"

But he kept walking away, making you tremble and start getting teary eyed. The one person you actually trusted was leaving you. Just like every other friendship you had. You thought you would've gotten over the repetition of abandonment and you did for quite a while. Yet, this man actually made you feel hurt by leaving. Usually, you'd just brush the people off since you were used to it, but the sight of him leaving you made it impossible to do so. And you weren't at the slightest surprised due to as stated before, many people before had abandoned their friendship with you.

This was all a game wasn't it? He was tricking you and acting all nice to make himself look good, correct? Of course it was. You weren't anything special enough to hang around.

With those thoughts in mind, you sat up from your seat on the bench and sprinted across the bridge back towards your home, passing Karamatsu on the way. You were crying as you ran which didn't go unnoticed by Karamatsu, making him feel highly guilty as he continued on towards his home. Once you arrived home, you made your way to your bed after locking the front door. You laid there for a while and contemplated on how pathetic you were. Karamatsu was met with his brothers when he arrived home, all of them eager to know how it went.

"DID YOU GET LAID?" Osomatsu immediately asked, genuinely curious to know if he wasn't the first to lose his virginity.

"D-did she kiss you?" Choromatsu stuttered.

Ichimatsu seemingly didn't care and only greeted with,"Tch..."

"DID YOU HIT A HOME RUN?!?!" Jyushimatsu asked as he swung his bat around, almost hitting Todomatsu in the face.

"Did she say yes?" The pink brother asked.

His five brothers swarmed him with questions about how he confessed to you and if you returned the feelings. He didn't answer at first, seemingly upset with himself, but was forced to answer after a few minutes.

"What happened?" Todomatsu asked curiously, finger on his chin.

"I told her I loved her," Karamatsu replied a tad bit blandly.
