The bell rings for second period and we rush to our classrooms. I take my seat next to Matt and place my books down on the table. We greeted each other and then Mrs. Badali strolls in the room soon after.
"Good morning little rays of sunshine!" She greets us warmly and we start class.
"Now that we have finished the lab safety protocol, we can actually learn about Anatomy now. Let's see...who can give me a brief description of what the science of Anatomy is?" Mrs. Badali scans the room and everyone's head is down hoping to not get picked.
"You there! Hi, how are ya? What is Anatomy?" Her eyes land on Silas and he slowly looks up at Mrs. Badali with a death stare. He takes a deep breath and clenches his very chiseled jaw, then replies.
"The study of body parts and there functions?" Silas sounded as if he asked a question rather than answering the previous one. He raised both his eyebrows at the teacher as she comprehends his answer.
"I was expecting more of a mature answer but that was valid. Not quite though. What is your name young man?" Mrs. Badali walks up to him and he rolls his eyes.
"Silas Mendoza." He tried his best not to give attitude as he replied. God, why does he have to have such a hot name too?
"Well I hope you pay close attention in my class, you're going to need it. Anatomy is the study of bodily structures of different organisms." Afterwards, she walks back up to the board and he catches me staring at him. I can feel my face instantly become red and my whole body started to sweat. Silas tries to hold in his laughter but fails as he slightly puffs up his cheeks. I could almost see him smile for the first time but it didn't happen. I composed myself and turn to face the board again.
Soon enough, it was lunch time and Matt, Cleo and I sit at our usual seats. Matt was nice enough grabs us our lunch again.
"So, I can't drive you home today. Mrs. Carino wants me to come to her office after school." I inform Cleo.
"Oooh...someone's in trouble." She says this with a baby voice and Matt comes back with our food and sits down.
"Why is she in trouble?" Matt asks and I roll my eyes.
"I'm not in trouble. But Matt, can you please pick Eli from school?" I ask him.
"Sure, but why are you going to her office anyways?" He ask me.
"Mrs. Carino is trying to help me out with my credits." I take a bite out of my sandwich and they both nod their heads. The rest of lunch was peaceful as I ate and read the first book of the 'Twilight Saga' series. This is at least the seventh time that I have read this book but I don't care.
The rest of my classes flew by and soon it was the last period. Theology class goes by really slow but not soon enough, the bell rings. I go to my locker and grab my stuff. Then I head downstairs to the principle's office.
"Hey, Mrs. Martha. Mrs. Carino wanted to see me." I explain to her as she looks up from her computer.
"Hello my dear, how are you?" Mrs. Martha smiles up at me and the wrinkles etched on her face moved with her grin.
"I'm doing well, how about you?" I return her smile and take a mint from the jar on her desk.
"Well, thank you dear. Mrs. Carino is just finishing up her meeting. I will call you when she is ready." I do as I'm told and take a seat on one of the ends of the brown leather coach. I take my book out once again and begin to read. A few minutes later, a tall and recognizable figure walks through the door and asks Mrs. Martha to see the principle. After being denied, he sighs and turns around. I get that heavy feeling in my heart as soon as Silas turns around. When he sees that I'm sitting behind him, he rolls his eyes and I raise an eyebrow at him.
