~Serilda~

I opened my mouth to question him further, but I stopped myself when I heard the sound of a motor. I step to the right in order to look past Alex, and I clenched my fists at the sight of Roy within a group of friends.

Roy placed his leather boot into the gravel floor, and gave me a smirk. I almost vomited in my mouth from the sight of him.

"What could you possibly want now?" I questioned keeping an eye on his friends. Alex turned around to see the new unwelcome guests, and his body stiffened when his gaze traveled to Roy.

Roy let out a chuckle as he got off his bike; allowing a friend of his to hold one of the handles.

"Why, isn't it obvious? I'm here to take my woman back."

I looked up to the sky letting out a groan. I started to turn around, but noticed Alex kept his stance.

"What? I'm weak, but you're confident in fighting all of them?" I whispered to Alex, but he ignored my rant. Alex kept his eyes on Roy causing tension build up in the atmosphere around us.

"I warned you... she's mine."

I rolled my eyes towards Roy's intimidation. I turned around to walk away from the testosterone pool, but I was greeted by two men walking to my direction. We were surrounded.

I quickly stepped backwards, and bumped into Alex's back. My heart was pounding, and I could feel my adrenaline start to pump through my veins.Fear caused my hands to sweat, and my legs were locked from moving.

I felt Alex's hand gently wrap around my wrist, and it helped ease my fear in reminding me that he was here too.

"Serilda, when I tell you when to run... go straight to your grandmother's house without looking back." Alex spoke in a calm voice that was barely above a whisper. I felt his warm hand release from my wrist leaving a cold phantom hand from his absence.

"I won't leave you alone with these idiots." I said facing Alex who was clenching his jaw.

"Serilda, you won't be safe if you stay-" Alex turned his eyes towards me for a moment, but then I saw a tan baseball bate raise above Alex's head.

The bat cracked against Alex's head before I could say a word. The sound caused birds to flutter into the sky leaving their nests.

I jumped backwards out of Alex's way, but my right ankle struck a root behind me. I fell into the ground with little preparation. Tears threatened to fall down my face as fear gripped my muscles.

Alex stumbled from the impact, but quickly regained his balance. He looked at me to make sure I was safe before turning his attention to Roy.

Roy swung the bat for a second time with a grin spreading across his face. It was a simple game to him. Roy's eyes widened from surprise when Alex's reflexes allowed him to raise his forearms quickly to block the impact.

My mind refused to let my body move, and I sat helplessly watching Alex defend himself. He glanced towards my direction for a moment before pushing Roy off him.

Fear paralyzed my voice as I saw two men form behind Alex. A man with blonde hair kicked Alex's back leg causing him to fall to the gravel floor.

"Stop..." My voice whimpered under my breath.

The men attacked Alex with several objects, and I could taste the salty tears that fell onto my dry lips. I took several deep breathes before I finally stood up. Stumbling forward I saw an opening, and ran in front of Alex.

"I told you... to run!" Alex grunted through his teeth. I stood ready for a blow to strike, but I didn't feel anything touch my skin.

I looked around to see the men panting, and a few had smiles creep across their faces. I followed their gaze seeing Alex curled into a fetal position. I dropped to the gravel floor shaking Alex.

"Alex!" I screamed as I shook his body. I turned around to Roy who held the blood-stained bat across his shoulder with a smirk.

Roy kneeled down in front of me, and held out his free hand towards me. Roy opened his mouth to speak, but I spat in his face before he had a chance.

He wiped off his face with the back of his jacket sleeve, and stared at me with cold eyes.

I was about to spit on him again, but I felt something wrap around my wrist. I turned my gaze to my wrist seeing Alex's hand, but when I looked at his face I was greeted by a pair of cold red eyes...
