~Alex~
I continued to walk down a gravel road that led to the human's house. The stubborn human kept mumbling to herself the entire way. I could feel my eye twitch with annoyance, so I finally set her on the ground.
"Why did you do that back there?" Serilda questioned me with narrowed eyes as if I did something wrong.
"You're weak." I told her blatantly, and I noticed her blue eyes widen with shock.
"Excuse me? You don't know me." She threatened with a glare biting on her lower lip. I couldn't help myself from letting out a chuckle from seeing her facial expression. Jacob how did you deal with this human?
I looked down the gravel road before turning back towards Serilda. The human's purple hair gleamed under the sunlight. I released a sigh, and gently pushed her shoulder with my finger. She stumbled backwards from being caught off guard.
"Hey! What's that for?"
I reached out to push her again, but this time she was able to move to the left. Somehow the human ended up barely standing on one foot, and I let out a hearty laugh.
"See? I can-" Before she could finish her sentence; I placed a single finger against her forehead. I pushed her backwards with a light push, and she fell to the ground with a killer look upon her face.
I couldn't stop my laughter from escaping, and I felt an unfamiliar warm feeling swell within my chest. Is this what you meant by happiness, Jacob?
I reached out my hand towards Serilda, and helped her off the ground. She dusted off her jeans, and my eyes traveled across the trees standing behind me. It seemed like a dream to be outside, and I felt the freedom whisper against my skin. I took in a deep breath of the wooden area taking in the scenery.
"Do... do you miss it?" I heard Serilda's soft voice question behind me. I turned towards her tilting my head with confusion.
"Your home that's in the rainforest?" Serilda questioned looking down at her clasped hands then away from my eyes. I felt my heart squeeze, and I couldn't place what the emotion was.
"I was taken as a young child, so I don't remember much of my time there." I explained, turning my gaze towards the concrete buildings that were in the distance.
The sun reflected against the buildings, and I could smell the fumes escaping from them. I heard the crunch of leaves appear beside me, and I could smell Serilda's perfume. It gave a fragrance of candy.
"Why did you not go to your father's funeral?" I asked Serilda who flinched at the question.
"Why should I go to a stranger's funeral? I barely knew that man who claimed to be my father." Serilda explained with crossed arms.
I took a step back from her not understanding her reasoning. Serilda kept her stare on the city, but her eyes seemed to glaze over.
"Is that all? I thought a funeral was an important event in a human's life from what Jacob-"
"Stop talking about him like he's your father." Serilda spat with venom in her words. My mind began to wonder into a memory of Jacob.

Eleven years ago...The room was small with white walls on every side. I paced the floor from anger, and pushed my desk over.
"You need to calm down. Emotions cause irrational judgements." A man with short hair explained calmly as he lifted the desk from the floor.
The human was taller than I was, but I wasn't scared of him like the others. His white lab coat blended with the walls, and I could feel my anger stir again.
I kicked over a chair, and sat down on my bed. The man kneeled in front of me with a half smile of reassurance.
"Look, E208..." Then the man shook his head before looking at me. He let out a sigh as if he knew the consequences of the single word he was about to speak.
"Alex..."

"Alex..."
"Alex?"
I snapped out of my memory to see Serilda in front of me. I wrapped my hand around my jewel that felt warm against my my clothes.
"Who named you Alex? It seems more of a human name than... well you know..." Serilda questioned as she watched my hand grip the jewel.
"Your father, Jacob, named me Alex."
