-Thanksgiving break brought misery.
Pain.
Nostalgia.
Memories...
Memories that resurfaced after years of being buried deep. Memories that Gray didn't want to remember. Memories of his childhood, of before. Memories... of her.
His past was something he'd tried so desperately to forget, that now he couldn't even remember how old he'd been when his entire life got flipped upside down.
When Gray was a child, just a little boy, he had only known the likes of his tiny little village.
His home.
He'd lived there with his parents, Silver and Mika Fullbuster, and his cousin, Lyon. They were happy there, so very happy.
Next door lived a woman named Ur. She was a distant relative of Gray's mother, a single mom who had been raped during her youth. At the young age of 18, she was pregnant with her daughter, Ultear.
Ur was like a second mother to Gray. After his mother fell extremely ill and wasn't able to take proper care of him, Ur selflessly took it upon herself to make their ends meet. She taught him, trained him to be immune to the cold, even indirectly passing on her stripping habits to him. He loved her, with all his heart. And she loves him back.
They were happy.
Gray, Lyon and Ultear were extremely close to one another, being childhood friends and fiercely loyal. They went to the same primary school and had already made themselves plans—how they'd all live the rest of their lives together as friends.
However, that to no avail.
Two weeks before Ur's birthday, the first waves of disaster struck.
Deliora, the most disastrous hurricane in Fiore's history. The first storms killed his mom and dad, the house collapsing on them and forever stealing away their breaths. Gray'd survived, much to his chagrin and scorn. Lyon's parents died too.
Ur and Ultear found them before the second waves hit. The four camped out in the crowded underground bunkers, going without food for days as they awaited rescue direly. News came that the Rescue Squad would be there soon, but the fucking bastards never showed up.
About a month later, the first signs of acid rain came. After that came the floods and cyclones. The tsunami was next. It knocked out about half of the survivors, sweeping away Ultear as well. Gray had never heard from her since, never knowing whether she'd survived or had joined the rest of the casualties in heaven.
