Sammy Walcott
"Godson?"
"Yea, kind of. Its a thing he calls himself so..." I explain watching him collect a cup of pudding and moving on. "Best describes our relationship."
"Damn," Elijah groans running a hand through his hair. "Godson. Relationship. Its confusing and upsetting."
"Why upsetting and what's confusing?" I ask watching him pay for his food.
"Its upsetting because its confusing. I hate being confused."
"Hmm, who could have guessed that." I answer him earning a stink eye.
"I don't know, it just sounds like some kink. You, Godson kink." He says his ears reddening.
"No, I don't know and I don't want to. If Godson is confusing then just settle on Wilson being my student I tutor him for money."
"Just tutoring?" He asks.
"What else Elijah?" I ask amused, he's so strange. "He's not my best friend if that's what you're wondering." I add almost laughing. "I don't have one."
"Except me?" He asks with a smile.
I don't bother answering him and I let my eyes wonder around the cafe. "Where would we sit? I'm tired of standing and if we want to get anything in, we need to sit."
Elijah rolled his eyes, "being on the team, aren't you supposed to be fit? Let's go to your sit."
"I don't have one." When he asked why, I just shrugged.
"Well I sat with a group the other day and they've been beckoning me ever since. Let's go." With him already on the move and me not having any other idea. I sighed following him.
The group he sat with happened to contain some boys on the team, some cheer girls, Crystal and May. Just great. Fucking great.
"Hi Eli!" The girls all chirped at once startling me a bit. I blinked, rubbed my ears before taking a seat beside Elijah.
Elijah slapped hands with the boys and smiled at the girls. "Sammy's joining in today, hope its okay."
"Of course it is." A curly blond boy said raising a hand to me. "Sammy man."
I glared at the raised up hand and he retreated shifting away on the chair. I blinked, clearing my throat. "Sorry, I don't fancy that."
"No problem. Slowly but steady." The boy said smiling but still looked scared.
I glanced at Elijah and he was smirking amusedly. I smiled, trying to hide off my face.
"Eli you must have some magic." Crystal started, "how you got Sammy to come here baffles me."
Elijah smiled nudging my arm, "Sammy's my man. My best friend."
"I'm not." I countered, my voice wasn't as bold and clear though.
"OMG, how cute!" May gushed, "Sammy Mcglare has a best friend."
"Mc what?" I asked raising a brow.
Elijah however was laughing his head off. "Mcglare? Oh God, that's a good one cutie."
Cu what?
May's eyes widened a thousand times and grinned widely her eyes looking all glossy as she swooned. What the hell? That look is disgusting.
I glared at Elijah which only caused him to laugh some more. I gave up focusing on the food mum packed up for me. Still as delicious as I remembered.
I only looked away when I felt a small arm creep over mine. I turned to see a petite girl with short straight dark hair. Her fake long lashes were flapping at me and her eyes had this strange look in them. I stared down at her curiously wondering how she'd come here and the boy had gone way over the other side of the table.
"Hi Sammy, am Winnie." She purred leaning closer so our bodies were touching.
"Hi Winnie." I answered bluntly. My eyes drifted down to her red lips then her over exposed cleavage.
That's it, no more cafe for me. I don't like this. Any of this. Infact, I felt disgusted.
"We're throwing a party. You should come. I'll be there." She winked her leg creeping about mine. I coughed and was about to push her off me, not caring whether she got hurt or not. But Crystal intervened.
"Get off Winnie, that too cheap, you're scaring him and he's clearly not interested." Crystal snapped.
Winnie seductive eyes morphed into a glare pointed at Crystal. "Mind your business. I'm inviting him for the party." The look returned. "You coming Sammy?"
I glared, already fed up. I'm close to losing my appetite for God's sake. This time Elijah intervened.
"I'll make sure he comes Winnie." And then I noticed he wasn't smiling anymore. He looked so serious.
Winnie smiled, blew me a kiss and sauntered off. Elijah and I sighed in relief at once. Glad that's over. I smirked at Elijah, he's really really serious about this best friend position. Getting all jealous every time. Its cute.
Wait what?
Nothing is cute to Sammy Walcott, nothing at all. Maybe sometimes, girls in glasses trying so hard to read some things but definitely not Elijah Gracia.
"Sorry about that Sammy." Crystal apologized on Winnie's behalf and got a nod of thanks.
Lunch was soon over and we were out of there immediately.
"Can we eat somewhere else next time. I didn't really enjoy lunch." Elijah grumbled still looking all gloomy and annoyed.
"Tell me about it." I breathed out and we exchanged a look before we burst out laughing. "Why was it bad for you?" I asked curiously.
He scratched his hair, still scattered anyway. "Um... We didn't really bond as was the purpose."
I rolled my eyes and he directed the question back to me. "One word-- Winnie."
He chuckled, "yeah she was strong. Don't deny you didn't enjoy the attention though."
"I really didn't."
"Really?"
"Really."
Elijah nodded with a smile. "Good."
"Good?" I asked curious.
"Yep, she wasn't your type." Elijah replies in this casual tone, putting his hands into his pockets.
"Huh? And how do you know what my type is?" I ask him raising a brow, a bit amused.
He sighed, "probably a nerdy girl, but I'm hoping not. Someone with perfect hair perhaps?"
That finally caused me to laugh, "You're not my type Elijah."
He raised both brows with a smile, "Well well well, who ever mentioned my name? Sammy... you're not thinking things about—"
"Fuck off." I cut him off, not waiting for him as I walked off. I could hear him reverberating laughter and the impossible happened.
I blushed.
