Me and Daniel went down to the doctors office for my ultrasound on Thursday.
We got to see the baby, and it is perfectly healthy. Daniels reaction to listening to the heartbeat was precious. The way he grabbed my hand and looked at the screen with watery eyes and the biggest smile, made me fall in love all over again.
The doctor had asked us if we wanted to know the gender, but since we both decided it would be a surprise we asked her to write it down and put it in an envelope for me, which she did.
I ended up giving the the envelope to Evelyn, my best friend, as she was very eager to set up a gender reveal party, as she loves children and the thought of having them.
I am really into photography, and I was going to pursue a career in photography, but I don't know how things will play out once the baby is born, because Daniel will be on and off tour and constantly in the studio, leaving me home with a baby to care for and no time for doing photography other than taking pictures of the baby for the blog I have had since I was 16.
My blog is where I post all of my photography and talk about what's going on in my life, including encouragement and advice for certain things teenagers like me are struggling with.
When I revealed I was expecting on the blog, all of the readers were very supportive, some teens even relating to my situation, which definitely made me feel way better, knowing they are just fine, and have great lives.
It is now Saturday, and the big reveal is in about two hours. We set it up in the backyard of the tiny home we have been living in together for a few months now, with a good old pink and blue theme.
Evelyn did an amazing job, and I have thanked her a billion times.
I had the idea to tell everyone to dress for according to what they wanted the gender to be, pink for a girl, and blue for a boy.
Evelyn is passionate in makeup and designing clothing, and she made me a beautiful pink dress, perfect size to fit my bump and my body shape at the same time. She is talented, and I have always encouraged her to go to New York where she can make it big, but she always tells me she wants to stay here and help out with me and her family, no matter how many times I tell her I can manage.
Daniel is sporting a blue button up, with some Khaki pants, determined the baby is going to be a boy, in which he wants to name Jake, a simple name, after his grandfather who passed away.
My mother and siblings are here, my siblings all with their kids and spouses. Evelyn is here with our friends from school, and Daniels friends are here as well, including Jack, Zach, Jonah, and Corbyn. Jonah is the only of the group wearing pink, as he told me having a little girl around would be fun to him.
There is a lot of pink and blue scattered all over the lawn, from the guests to the decorations across the area.
Evelyn is wearing purple, as she knew the gender and didn't want to give it away ,and has done a beautiful purple makeup look on herself. Her makeup is another thing that's she is really good at, along with her ability in designing clothing.
We didn't want to be too extra, so me and Daniel decided just to do simple confetti poppers to reveal the gender of the baby. Evelyn happily picked those up from the store along with the decorations that are all over.
I am so grateful for all of the support that we have received from everyone. I was so afraid that everyone would walk out on me, especially Daniel.
After talking to pretty much everyone at the party, Evelyn told me that we should do the actual reveal, so I just simply went over to Daniel and told him exactly what Evelyn told me.
I am literally shaking, and I can feel Daniel shaking as well while he puts his arm around my waist.
Evelyn approaches us, and hands us both a confetti popper. Daniel detaches his arm from around my waist and walks a bit away from me.
"Ready?" Evelyn looks at me and Daniel, and we both nod at her, excited and nervous.
Everyone has gathered around us, and begin to count down.
"3"
"2"
"1"
Suddenly the noise of a bang occurs, and it is raining pink confetti, and cheering can be heard all around me. Daniel runs over to me and hugs me the tightest he ever has, and then grabs my face, as we share a very passionate, yet gentle, love filled kiss.
"Told you it would be a girl." I smirk as I pull away from him.
"Well boy or girl, I still love our child." He smiles down at me.
As soon as we break apart from our moment, we are being crowded by everyone, each person walking up to us congratulating us on our baby girl.
The rest of that night was a blast. I got a ton of pictures for my blog, not just of the setting, but of the the actual reveal, and separate pictures of me and Daniel, as well as me and Evelyn.
We received so many nice gifts, and now that we know it's a girl, we can begin designing a nursery, something I've been looking forward to the most.
This is all so perfect.
Just perfect.
Perfect.
