Adeline

>>>Chapter 18<<<

I sit on the same chair i've been in for the majority of my time since we have been home, watching adeline lay on a blanket on the floor, still not able to do much, just enjoying being down there.

daniel has completely overcome his illness, and it is our tenth day home with adeline, so he is very adjusted to his new life as a dad.

daniel sits on the ground, staring at our daughter with delight, and i can't help but smile at how much he adores our little girl.

"hey baby." i say, looking down at him.

"yes?" he replies, looking away from the baby to meet my eyes.

"guess what." i say, smiling.

"what?" he says, returning a smile.

"we are getting married in a couple of months." i say, as i just remembered about the wedding to be totally honest.

"i know, trust me i already have our countdown going, i'm trying to train and prepare myself for the biggest and best day of my life next to when i met you and when little ads was born." he says, lightly tickling adeline while he talks, watching her face light up.

i smile.

"how did i get so lucky." i say, joining daniel on the floor.

he pulls me on to his lap and puts his chin on my shoulder.

"trust me, i'm the lucky one here." he says, turning his head and kissing my cheek.

"i fall in love with you more and more every single day." i say, smiling at the moment.

"you know what would be great right now?" daniel says in his romantic voice.

"what?" i say, turning to smirk at him.

he gets up close to my ear, and whispers seductively,

"grilled cheese."

i turn to look at him, and immediately start laughing.

"this is why i'm marrying you mister." i say ruffling his hair as he scrunches his face up.

"i mean who needs sex when there is grilled cheese! that's like sex on a plate!" he says, giggling at his own statement.

i laugh along with him.

"well i suppose i should go make you some grilled cheese, bring the babe in and we can set her on the living room carpet and she can watch me cook, and you can do whatever." i say, and tap his nose.

"sounds like a plan."

fifteen minutes later, after daniel distracted me with his show of affection once again, i was starting up the stove as daniel sat with adeline on the living room floor, rubbing her back up and down ever so gently.

i began the process of daniels sandwich, taking my time, humming to some song playing on the radio that had gotten stuck in my brain.

within minutes i was finished with daniels sandwich, and carefully set it on a plate.

i walk into the living room, and place my hands on his shoulders, rubbing them a bit.

"grilled cheese is done, i'll take over here sir." i say, sounding like a maid to be funny.

he just smiles at me, standing up and accepting the plate, kissing me on the cheek.

"what would i ever do without you?" he asks as he sits at the table in the dining room behind us.

"well you would probably starve or live if chipotle... and your house would be a disgusting mess and-" i'm cut off by daniel

"i was trying to be nice!! i don't actually need to know how hopeless i would be without you. i know i'm not good at organizing, or cooking, but you don't need to remind me!" i say, daniel laughing as he speaks.

i laugh as well, thinking about how daniel would actually be without me.

i take out my phone, still keeping an eye out for  what adeline is doing, which is not a whole lot, she is pretty much just laying there enjoying the feel of the carpet underneath her.

i check the notifications coming from the apps i don't really use but still haven't deleted, along with the useful apps, and put my phone away.

i tickle adeline a little bit, and smile at her little smile.

"i love you baby girl." i say, smiling down at her while tapping her nose lightly.

"i love you baby girl." daniel says, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my neck and shoulders.

"i love you too." i say, looking up at his shining blue eyes.

"what do you say we put adeline down for a nap, and go cuddle." he says, smirking at me.

"let's do it!" say picking up adeline and bringing her to her room.

me and daniel went up to our room, to fulfill our plans of  watching netflix and cuddling, but our plans were forgotten as soon as we entered the room.

let's just say cuddling and movies didn't happen.
