As soon as i woke up, i knew today was going to be a long day.

Daniel got up numerous times during the night to throw up, and i had to force him to sleep on a different room so he wouldn't get the baby sick.

I myself could not sleep over the sounds of Daniels groaning from the room behind me, and Adeline's constant crying which i tried my best to control so Daniel could try and sleep.

Today is the day we are to bring Adeline home, and with a sick boyfriend, and severe exhaustion it's going to be a harder task then i expected.

I slowly get out of bed, and look over at Adeline, who has finally decided to sleep as soon as we need to get up to take her home.

I change into a new pair of sweatpants and a plain t shirt, which is what i have been wearing since Adeline was born, as i only care about comfort right now.

I decide to give Adeline a few more minutes of sleep, and exit the room and enter the one daniel was forced to sleep in.

A nurse is at daniels bedside, checking his temperature.

She turns around and sees me.

"Good morning miss! Your boyfriend has been diagnosed with the flu, and needs to be treated at home with the medicine prescribed! I suggest he stays away from the baby as her immune system is still weak after just being born, and also make sure he gets plenty of rest." she explains, and i look down at daniel.

he looks awful.

his eyes are puffed up, looking very irritated as if he had been crying, his nose was very pink and he couldn't breath out of it due to how congested he was. he had an awful deep cough, showing congestion in his chest as well, and he looked very weak, almost small. he was ghostly pale, which scared me a bit, but the nurse said it was just a sign of nausea.

the nurse left a few minutes after explaining more stuff, and i sat by daniels bedside, praying i wouldn't get sick.

"Are you ready to take our baby girl home?" I say, smiling at daniel.

he smiles back, but a weak smile.

"Yeah, just let me get up and going." he groans. "i feel awful." he then adds.

"i know baby, but you are gonna get better. now i am gonna go get everything squared away in the other room, you take your time." i say as i brush his hair out of his face and exit the room.

within an hour after i left the room, me and daniel were already ready to go, and managed to keep Adeline asleep and peaceful during the whole process, including the ride home.

i sat in the back of the car, so i could be next to Adeline to watch her, and daniel drove. looking at Adeline and then at daniel was like looking at my whole life laid out right in front of me.

I am so grateful for everything, and although I was scared and so was Daniel, we managed to make everything work out just like we always have.

Adeline fit right into her new room, and I could stare at her in her crib all day long, looking at her perfect eyes and rosy cheeks, and the sweet smile she had whenever she heard her daddy speak.

I forced daniel into our room, telling him i didn't plan on letting him come out until he was completely healthy, as i didn't want the baby to be at risk for illness.

i now sat on the small chair in adeline's room, where i planned to sleep as i didn't want to get sick, and i wanted to be close to Adeline as she was destined to wake up multiple times in the middle of the night.

I opened my laptop and logged onto my blog, finally able to post the announcement that Adeline has finally made her way into the world.

I end up posting this:

in the end, everything has turned out alright, just like i knew it would.

i close my laptop and stare at the sleeping child in front of me.
