I am sorry for all the pov switches. It can get confusing. PlatinumAngel7

My phone was beeping. Either someone sent me something or it was a bomb. It turned out to be an email from Nina. I think. It had her email address but it said,

Logan,

Nina doesn't know I sent these.

I scrolled down and discovered two pictures of Nina. The only thing different as that her hair was curled and she was wearing a dress. Nina would never willingly agree to put on a dress. Ever. Unless it was something important. In the second picture she had her jacket on, so at least that was normal.

I shook my head. I couldn't believe it.

I got the pictures. She was beautiful. Annie looked at my phone and freaked out. She then had them printed out for me and I stuck them on my wall of pictures.

The months went by and soon from September it was February. I got birthday presents, and I sent some. People kept asking when I would be back. I've been gone for a bit longer than two years. So I brought up the topic with my mom one morning. She would hate to see me go. And she just made pancakes.

"Mom, you've been taking care of me for a while, and I'm really thankful that you have, even more that I found you, but -" I was interrupted. "You have to go, I know." I was confused.

She continued. "I knew you would have to go back someday. You have friends there that care about you, and even if your father won't admit it, he misses you too." I look up as she passes me a plate of pancakes. "Mom there's one more question I meant to ask you. Why did you leave me at the door step?" I've been holding that one back for years.

She sighed. "It was never something I was proud of. I left you there because you would be safe there. They would protect you. I couldn't take you with me because people were hunting me. They wanted to find out where your father was, so they started following me. I knew if they found out about you they would kill you, and there was a great possibility you would be just like him, so I left you there."

I have no idea what to say. Should I thank her for leaving me there? Or should I ask who was following her. It's none of my business... kinda. So I just dropped the subject and are my breakfast. I put my plate in the sink and texted dad to let him know I was coming home soon. I went outside and up in a tree, and then called Annie. She answered on the first ring.

"Hi Nina! what's up?"

"I'm coming home soon"

She sounded like she was gonna explode so I quickly added,

"Don't tell anyone! Especially not Jack."

"Ok." she said sadly.

"But I need your help to plan a surprise."

I filled her in on my ideas.

"So I can tell Matt, because he's helping?" She asks excitedly.

"Yeah, but do you think you can do it?"

"Positively. It's time for class, I gotta go." She hung up.

A few days later in the early morning, I was dragging my stuff down to my bike. Mom was helping of course. "Be careful on the road sweetheart. And don't push the button. Don't talk to strangers, and please don't stab them." She fussed with my helmet, then my jacket and making sure all my stuff was strapped down. "Mom I'll be fine. It'll take a couple days to get there." She smiled at me with tears in her eyes. "Here take this. No daughter of mine is gonna sleep on the side of a road. It's for hotels." She says handing me a was of cash. Holy crap that's a lot of money. 3,000 bucks.
