Nina pov

Like all vacations, they have to end sometime. Sometimes sooner than later, but it was time to get back to reality. My reality was 'there are people to save, people to train, and people to put in jail... Or kill.'

Not a very good one, but you know your doing something worthwhile. Training is always fun, and now that it's an upper level class (one I've completed in my early teens), I'm gonna leave 'em all in the dust. The professor says that after I complete the upper level class (again), he'll let me start training a class of my own, take a load off dad's shoulders.

It'll be fun of course, having my own class, people who want to learn more and look up to me.

I'm snapped back to reality when Jack looks questioningly at me. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I said that your going to snap that." He said nodding towards my hands. Indeed, I was clutching a new pair of sunglasses extremely tight. We both drag our bags out front to the driveway, where Logan, Victor, and mom were waiting. Matt said he would be here in a few minutes to drive us back. It wasn't even sunrise yet, and he was driving from the school, but there he was as he turned the last corner, honking his horn. Logan had his one duffle strapped to his bike, and helped Victor and Matt load in my bike and all of our stuff, while I said goodbye to mom. She pulled me aside, Logan keeping an eye on me.

"Listen sweetheart, don't try to come back here again. Not until its safe." She said grasping my shoulders.

That had me worried. "Why?"

"Remember how you said you and Logan were being hunted?" I nod. "They don't only want you, they're after me too. Victor warned that they would try to use me to get to you."

I was shocked. When did they talk about this?

"I need to get off the map, so Logan arranged for me to go to Canada until this all clears up."

So that's why he borrowed my money and left that day. To help my mom. "But I'm asking you, to please, please, don't get into trouble, don't get caught, and you don't have to be the hero. Please, at least not as much. It broadcasts to everyone where you are. And be careful." She wrapped me in a bear hug, while I, still speechless, hugged her back.

"You too mom." I finally say as everyone calls for me to get in the truck. I obey, waving to mom as we drive off into the rising sun.

I was assaulted in hugs when I opened the truck door. It wasn't too cramped on the way back, but it was stuffy, and Victor had to ride in the back. Annie reached me first, then going around hugging us all. Then I slapped hands with everyone else who came to say hi, and I gave Lyrica a hug too, all before dad pulled up.

For some strange reason, out training time is full of holes. After we graduate, there's at least a week of training, then summer break, and then resuming school in the fall, but another break for Christmas. It can be confusing. I'm planning my summer carefully, trying to squeeze in everything I want to do. I could cross visiting mom off my list if this 'in danger, being hunted' thing doesn't clear up soon.

Jack and I throw our stuff in my room, and head back downstairs. Jack is pulled into the kitchen by Annie and Matt. I hold onto him for a sec. "I'll be at the training field helping set up." He nods and kisses me, before being dragged off.

I met dad out by the tree. "We have to set up some basic things," dad explained to me. "Nothing to easy, but nothing that could kill someone. We're going to half to do most of the training in the danger room first." I nod. His set up crew, was me, Victor and himself. Mostly me. I directed Victor on what to get from the storage shed, and I set most of it up in a strategic order, while Logan watched from the tree. I mean, he helped a little, most of the heavy things that Victor was to busy to get, like the other post that holds the collapsible pull-up bar (not all people are as awesome as me and think to use the trees). We placed them in the pre-dug holes, and I used my amazing strength to jump up and lock the bar into place. We set up other things, like a few lasers, some jumps, a trampoline. I was in the middle of trying to hang the zip line, when I heard the kitchen people come out. I had already tied one end to another wooden post, and was up on a platform securing it up there. They gathered around the platform, and I jumped down, landing in a crouch. I got up and Annie was blabbing away. "Nina! Lucas and Lyrica are having a small get-together next month to kick off summer. They didn't want it too big so it's just us. Oh Nina I know you hate parties but you have to come. Please!"
