Logan pov

I had just finished submitting the papers online for my trip to Texas, just before Nina had another headache.
She was back down in the ICU part of the clinic. She was passed out, but bound to wake up any minute. Because of all this, I'm worried about leaving again. Just as I opened the door she sat up.
"Hey kid, how ya feeling?" I ask coming around and sitting in a plastic chair. "Like death, but better." She said trying to get up. "No, Nina you stay in that bed." She ignores me, and throws open the door. I follow her down the hallway.
"If you think your fine then why do you keep getting headaches? You pass out almost every time."
We turn into the elevator. "Dad I am fine. I have no idea why you guys keep putting me in the ICU!"
When the doors opened she bolted out the ginormous front doors and mumbled something about a stream.
Something isn't quite right. I went outside after her, but she was long gone. When I went to the kitchen for a drink I saw Annie and all them clustered around a computer. Opening the fridge I ask them. "Can one of you go find Nina? She said something about a stream and left." They looked up at me, obviously only half paying attention. "Only Jack knows exactly where it is, but he's sleeping. She'll come back in eventually." Annie said. Lucas, who had graduated to one of those splint cast things only yesterday, offered to get her. "I'm sure I can find it."

I was sitting on the bank from the creek, watching the water flow around rocks, when I heard a rustle in the bushes behind me. "Annie?"
A head and soon a body, became clearer. "I understand your confusion." It was Lucas. He came over and sat down by me, carful not to fall in. "How did you find me?" I asked. "I can talk to rabbits? Remember?"
She looked up at me. "Why are you out here? It's almost ten?" He asked looking into my eyes. "I needed to think."
"About what?"
"Stuff. It's none of your business." I said rather harshly.
"Headache?"
I hesitated before I answered no. I didn't realize I was crying until he wiped a tear off my cheek. I can't believe I was crying in front of him. I slapped his hand away and wiped my eyes. He moved closer. "You know, if you don't feel pain your not human, and your not alive. If you feel it, you know that you are alive."
I let out a half hearted laugh. "Man, that was deep."
"I know right?" He laughed. And yet again he moved closer, and I moved farther away, but I was running out of bank. "So if you feel pain your alive? Isn't that normal?" I ask as he moved closer once again. "Yeah, exactly."
I was as far away as I could get from him, but he still moved closer.
He was looking at the rushing water when he said, "Nina I really like you, and I was hoping-"
I cut him off, laughing. "Dang, that is like the funniest thing I've heard all day! Yeah right!" I was still laughing, on the verge of tears. He scooted over a bit more.
"Could you scoot over a bit?" I asked him through my laughing, on the edge. "Yeah sure." He scooted closer. Dang. His face was inches away from my own. And his breath smelled like cherry flavored stuff. One of my least favorite flavors of stuff.
"I wasn't kidding. I like you." He tried to move closer. I held him back with a hand. "Um, hello? I have a boyfriend, and I don't like you." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me foreword. "Now we both know that isn't true."
He tried to pull me closer. "Look I think you got mixed signals here, I was being nice. I don't like you, now let go, or I swear your gonna loose an eye." He yanked me closer and kissed me. He held me against him, my arms pinned at my sides. I struggled but it didn't help one bit. Lucas finally released me after I stopped moving. I stood up and slugged him right in the cheek an inch from his eye, an inch off from where I was aiming. He was flat on his back in the mud, a black and blue mark starting to form where I had nailed him. I pointed a fist at him, unsheathed my claws, and threatened, "If you ever do that or anything like it I will skin you like a deer and use it as a rug. Understand?"
He just looked at me and smiled. "You wouldn't do that, because you and I both know that you kissed me back." When he attempted to get up, I kicked him into the stream and ran. Ran to the mansion, up the stairs, and into my room, where Jack was on my bed sleeping.
