Logan pov.I leave for Texas today. Home of everything big. Big sandwiches, big tumble weeds, and big army bases. All in the middle of no where. Great place to spend summer. I had everything packed around three in the morning, and was ready to go by four, standing out by the jet waiting for the rest of em to come. There was no way I was driving for more then three hours in a car with some strict army generals. Storm had offered to take me in the jet, because it was on the way to a mutant prison they had to check up on in Southern California. As I was standing there getting a bit annoyed of how long they were taking, Nina came rushing in carrying something. "Dad! I thought you left, you almost forgot these." She held out her fist and dropped something small and metal. She looked up smiling at me. In my hand were my dog tags on their chain. She continued, "I found them in the kitchen, and I didn't want you to be the only one there without them. I shoved them in my pocket. "Thanks kid. Here are the things I want you to do while I'm gone."
She nodded. "I want you to do exactly what the Professor says to do, down to the letter. Do not forget the gloves when you go up north, and don't mess with strangers. Don't hurt people in any way unless they deserve it, or unless there isn't a police force around to witness that you did it. And please don't irritate Victor. He's your uncle, not your babysitter."She smiled but nodded. "Remember. Your first class is today, Jack will make sure you go. Jean gave you the ok for smaller missions. Don't get hurt or your mom will kill me. Got it?"
She nods once more. "Got it. Here are the things I want you to do. I don't want you to run them till their feet bleed. Train just as hard as them. If someone is doing something wrong tell them that, and if they still keep doing it yell. Dont stab jerks and if someone chickens out, please don't call them a girl, it's insulting." I smile at her, her eyes sparkling. She hesitated a moment but gave me a hug. It was a relief when she didn't double over with a headache.
Jean and Storm, in full uniform, came in a minute later and soon I was on the jet, on my way to the state where everything is big.XxXxXxXxXx
When we touched down in Texas. The generals, and all the trainees were standing in perfect formation. Jean and storm followed me off. There were maybe seven people in front of me, and half of them smelled that weird musty way all old people smell like. They greeted us when we were in front of them. Jean spoke up. "We're going to leave him here if that's all right." They all laughed. Storm said. "Yeah but we need him back by August." That made them all laugh harder. I was slightly baffled about why they were laughing, but honestly I didn't care. There was a slight frown on my face, like always. My 'get on with it' face. When the generals finally straightened up, they wished a good day to Jean and Storm and went to stand in front of the troops. I was quickly hugged by both of them before they walked back to the jet. "Have a nice vacation Logan!"
That I will. The main person spoke to us. "As you all know, everyone gets a group, and at the end of the summer, whichever group is the most successful in terms of graduates wins." I nod. Just like home, but with more people, and a higher competition.
Nina pov.
Jack escorted me to my first class with the Professor. He left outside his office and kissed me before going back to the kitchen to finish his breakfast. I was about to knock, but a voice said to come in. I did as I was told and found the Professor behind his desk, and Phoebe in a comfy looking chair in front of it. He offered another one exactly like it to me, and I sat down, not wanting to be rude.
"How did you sleep? Ok I hope." He asked.
"Fine, actually, better than I have in maybe a week." He smiled. "Good. We are going to start with Phoebe's training. Just for a while, and then she can help me with you." I nod. "Ok."
The Professor started asking Phoebe to levitate random objects around the room. He didn't say so, but he was thinking it. Soon I was floating a good two feet off the ground. "Ok, can you put me down please! I really don't appreciate flying." I was set down gently, back into the chair. Phoebe looks worn out already. "Nina would you mind if Phoebe practiced telepathy on you?" The Professor asked. "Wait. What?"
Phoebe sat on the edge of her chair. "I am telekinetic. Can I read your mind?"
I shrugged. "I don't see anything wrong about it? I mean what could you make any worse?" It's not like she could make my brain explode. Could she? I was second guessing my decision when she started. She only looked through my happy memories. By the time she ended, my head was throbbing. "You ok?" She asked concerned. I brought a hand to my head, and sighed. "Yeah, fine. I'm fine."
The professor continued talking. About tips how to not break down. "Just channel it so it doesn't effect you after. Don't let it become overwhelming."
Now how in the world am I suppose to do that?
