Oakley's POV
Quinn Lazarus was a— strange boy. Not like anyone I've ever met. From what I can tell so far, he gets excited a lot but is also very quiet. After we sang in the park, he refused to take the money, but I forced him to. I packed everything up then turned to Quinn who was still there.
"Well, I don't want to be a burden.. I'll be gone now.." Quinn said, with a shy smile. "No, wait!" He looked at me, confused. "Well, my moms gonna be out and I figure I'm gonna get pretty bored, so do you wanna come over to my house?" I asked.
Quinn's face lit up. "R-really?" I was confused. "I mean, sure, if you want." I said, putting my backpack on. "I— I've just never been invited to a friends house before." Quinn muttered, quietly, but loud enough for me to hear him. "Well, now you have." I smiled. "C'mon, let's go." I got up, guitar case in hand. Quinn got up as well and we walked towards my house.
Halfway there, I spotted Violet. "Hey!" I yelled, waving my hand in the air. She turned and tilted her head, confused. I took Quinns hand in my free hand and ran towards her. "Hiya!" I smiled. Violet looked down, but gave a small wave. "Violet, this is Quinn. Quinn, this is Violet." Quinn reached his hand out to shake hers, but Violet kept her hands by her side, so he pulled his hand away. "Nice to meet you..." Quinn said, scratching the back of his head.
"We were just heading to my house! And you know what they say, the more the merrier! Wanna tag along?" I asked Violet.
Before she could get a chance to reply, I grabbed her hand "Great! Let's go!" I exclaimed. Her face was red. I pulled her along as Quinn and I walked side by side.
We reached my house and I opened the door. "You can put your shoes right there." I let go of Violets hand. We all took our shoes off and I shut the door. I lead them to the living room where we all sat down on the couch.
We spent hours just talking, playing truth or dare(which resulted in Quinn in a wig for the rest of the game and he had to speak in a very bratty voice, which we all laughed at, Violet revealing some juicy secrets and I having to go Christmas carolling in the beginning of September.) and just joking around. It was mainly Quinn and I doing the talking, but Violet spoke up once in a while, nodded whenever she agreed with something and she smiled and laughed whenever something funny happened.
It was getting pretty late so I offered to walk them all home and they both agreed. So, we put our shoes on, walked out of the house (I locked it once I stepped out) and headed towards Quinn's house. Since he was the farthest away, we decided we'd go there first and Violet lived pretty close to me so we'd just walk back there.
After dropping Quinn off and saying goodbye to him, we headed to Violets house. I noticed she didn't have a jacket on and she looked a bit cold, so I slipped my jacket over her. It was a bit big for her, but that's fine. We walked in complete silence until we reached her house.
Once we got to Violets house, she tried to give me my jacket back, but it looked better on her, so I let her keep it. I waved bye, with a smile, then headed home.
I got home, locked the front door then headed to my room. I slipped into my duck onesie and sighed. At the old house, mom used to kiss me goodnight every night, but now since she's always working late, I've never gotten a good night kiss since we got here. I got into my bed and quickly drifted off to bed.
Tomorrow's a new day, and I wonder what'll happen then. I imagined it to be normal, but the events that happened the next day were far from normal.
