Violets POV
After Oakley and I got off the bus, the bus drove away and we both just stood there. "So, urm I'll see you at school and maybe text you later." He said, with a smile. Yesterday, Quinn, Oakley and I had exchanged numbers. For some reason, Oakley smiling made me feel weird. It wasn't a weird feeling but it wasn't a normal one either. I've never felt that way. It was almost as my heart was melting. Interesting. I just nodded, my head down. I couldn't look into his eyes. His perfect blue eyes with a hint of green, that could make me melt into a puddle. Wait— what am I thinking? I don't like him that way and plus we only knew eachother for a day. That wasn't enough time to like someone. Still, just being around him somehow made me feel that same weird feeling I mentioned earlier.
Then out of nowhere, gently, Oakley lifted my head up. "You should keep your head up more. Then people could see your pretty eyes." I could feel myself blush. He shot me a smile with his perfect pearly white teeth. I wanted to melt into a puddle. "Later." Oakley then turned away and walked away. I rushed home, and almost fell like 4 times. Stupid clumsy self. Once I got home, I rushed in, not bothering to acknowledge my mom laying passed out on the couch and my other mom greeting me from the kitchen.
Yeah, I have two moms. Got a problem? Good for you.
In my room, I shut the door and collapsed onto my bed. I stared at my ceiling. Oakley had just said my eyes were pretty. My boring brown eyes. He thought they were pretty! I was always really self conscious about my eyes but him saying that somehow made me feel a bit more confident. I sighed happily, and just smiled like an idiot. I've never really smiled, but ever since I met Oakley, I guess I just smiled more than usual. My thoughts were interrupted by a beep. Assuming it came from my phone, I picked it up and checked it. A message from... Quinn? I unlocked my phone and read it. "Hi, I'm freaking out and I really need to talk to someone and you seem like a good listener so could I maybe come over?" A friend coming to my house? Well, I don't think we were friends but it seemed that way. "Sure, lemme just ask my parents." I sent back. I had to clean up. My room was tidy, so all I really had to do was put a misplaced sock away. I then went downstairs to alert my moms I was having a visitor over.
I woke up one of my moms, Belle Parks. When I told them I was having a friend over, they were both surprised. I couldn't really blame them. Since I was a kid, I didn't really have any friends, so nobody came over. My other mom, Ivy Parks, continued with dinner, while Belle started to tidy up. I went back upstairs and picked up my phone. I then messaged Quinn "Okay, they both said yes." That was followed by me sending my address. I sat on my bed and waited patiently. I wonder what he was freaking out about and why he was coming to me, of all people. I'm not good with advice, however Oakley might be. He should've just went to him. God, why couldn't I get Oakley out of my head today?
