Violets POV
After a while of talking, Quinn had to leave. Ivy asked if he wanted to stay for dinner, but he denied and just left. "He seemed like a nice boy." Belle said, still sat on the couch. I just nodded and went back to my room.
The week flew by and it was soon after school on Friday. I was getting some things out of my locker so I could leave, and when I shut it, I saw Oakley's face. "Uhm hello?" I was confused why he was here. Did he want to walk to the bus together? Because I can't. "Heya. Me and Quinn were just gonna hang after his laps and wanted to know if you'd like to join? We were gonna go to this new cafe." I really did want to go. But I couldn't.
Ya see, on Friday's my mom, Belle, picks me up. My other mom, Ivy, doesn't know about that. Let me just explain. I was born here by a mom (Ivy.) and a dad. However, at the time, my mom didn't know she was bisexual. My dad moved here for high school and my mom and him were high school sweethearts, who ended up marrying. They were married for about a year then had me. Then, a year later, everything went downhill. My dad started drinking, bringing random girls home, and my mom just couldn't take it. So, she kicked him out and filed for a divorce. My mom figured my dad left the town, but she was wrong. After the divorce, my mom met Belle. They were dating for a year then got married. I got to be the flower girl. Anyhoo's, I was about 3 or 4 when they got married. When I got to 5th grade, Belle met up with my dad. And since then, every Friday, she'd take me to my dads house, without my mom knowing, and would leave me there. It's horrible, really. He does whatever he wants with me. He makes me clean, cook, and if I say one thing, I get beat or tortured. Sometimes he just tortures me for fun. He's a sicko. And so is Belle. All she wants is money and will do everything to get it. She tells my mom that Fridays are her work days, and she forced me to tell her I have a tutoring group on Fridays.
"Sorry, I'm busy, maybe tomorrow." I spoke more around him and Quinn now. We were all actually becoming really good friends. "Awwh, that's too bad. Well, text me if you change your mind." He smiled and I was about to smile as well, but my smiles really ugly and I don't really wanna look like a donkey in front of him. "Okay. " I got a message from Belle, saying to meet her outside. "Gotta go now. Bye Oakley." He waved bye as I walked out of the school.
We arrived at my dads house. Or was he former dad? Whatever, I'll just call him dad. Belle was pulling on my arm and knocked on the door. You're probably wondering why I don't tell my mom this is happening. Belle is one of my moms favourite people and if I told her, she probably wouldn't believe me. And if she did believe me, she'd just be heartbroken and I can't do that to my mom.
My dad answered the door. "Took you long enough lil shit." He threw money at Belle, grabbed me then slammed the door shut. I'll spare you the details of what happened next, but I'll just say it was horrible. A full on 2 hours of him torturing me. Pulling my hair, punching me, kicking me, throwing bugs and water on me, locking me in this small cage then throwing the cage down the stairs and things like that. I'm surprised I'm still alive. He finally gave me a break when he told me to go clean the windows. And as soon as I went to clean them, I hopped out of it into a nearby tree. I then climbed down the tree and just ran. No idea where I was going but I was going somewhere.
I ended up at a cafe nearby, tired and out of breath. I felt like I was going to die. I was in pain everywhere and just collapsed. Well, I guess this is the end. But when I shut my eyes, I heard a familiar voice, repeating "Violet." over and over again. It was a nice voice. A voice that made me feel safe. I felt arms wrapped around me and just finally passed out into whoever's arms this was.
I woke up in an unfamiliar bed. I thought I was dead. Guess not. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled nice wherever I was. It smelled warm and oddly like vanilla. The second thing I noticed was how neat and tidy this room was. The third thing I noticed, was the person sitting next to me. It was Oakley and he was looking away. I guess he didn't notice I woke up. Wait, how did I even get here? "O-Oakley?" His head turned to me, rather quickly, actually. "Oh, thank god, you're awake." He looked relieved.
"How did I get here?" "Well, Quinn had ditched me and I decided to go to the cafe alone, and I saw you collapsed on the ground. So I took you here because I was worried about you and yeah. I would take you to the hospital, but I checked your pulse and you were still breathing. While you were asleep, I managed to bandage up your arms and legs, because you were bleeding there. Could I ask what happened?" Oh God. I didn't have to explain myself to him, right? Although, I really do need to talk to someone about this. And I trust Oakley, right? "Promise you won't tell anyone? Not the cops, not any teachers, not my mom and not anyone in the entire world?" He nodded. I took a deep breath and explained everything.
At the end, he was in tears, but I was confused why. It's not like he was the one in this situation. But, maybe he actually just cared about me. He wrapped his arms around me and I started to cry. God, this was just one big cry fest. I hugged him back and eventually fell asleep since I was rather tired. Belle would probably be pissed at me in the morning, but who cares? Right now, I have Oakley, and Oakley's all I want.
