Violets POV
10 minutes later, I sit on the couch with my mom, Belle, watching T.V. There was a knock on the door and I figured it was Quinn. So, I got up and opened the door, to see Quinn, fidgeting with his sleeve. "Hey, Violet." He said, looking up. "Hi, —" I was about to say something else but I was interrupted by both of my moms walking up behind me. "Hi! You must be Violets friend! Welcome to our home!" Ivy exclaimed, with a smile. Ivy was born here and like everyone else, unusually happy.
Quinn looked, confused. I swear, if he was a homophobic asshole, I'd throw him out of my house. Okay, I probably wouldn't, but I'd ask kindly for him to leave. "H-hi, Mrs. and Mrs. Parks. Uhm, Violet, could we talk privately?" Quinn asked. I nodded my head and lead him to my room. Once in my room, I shut the door and sat down on my bed, him sitting next to me. "W-why did you need to talk with me?"  I asked, in a whisper tone but still loud enough for him to hear. "Well, I really need someone to talk to, and you just seem like a really good listener and, for some reason, I feel really comfortable around you. And you have two moms, so you'd understand!" He was rambling. I nodded and he continued.
"So, I guess I should just get out with this, because I really really need to say it to someone. I—" he took a deep breath. "I'm gay." I looked at him, with a plain face.
"I know." I stated. "W-wait what? How—?" I giggled slightly. "When you were acting as a girl a few days ago, you really got into it, and yeah some gay people are masculine, but that just kinda hinted me. And you seem like you have a secret, I'm really good at reading people, almost like a book so I just figured you were gay." He looked shocked. "Oh. Well, anyways, I'm having some problems with a boy. You know Martin Lenders, the only boy who everyone knows is gay?" I nodded. "Well, we planned for a date later today, but I had to run extra laps in gym and asked if we could reschedule it to Saturday, but he has work on Saturday so then I said Sunday, and he could do Sunday, but it's my very first date and I'm very nervous and just wanted to tell that to someone. Also, please don't tell Oakley, I don't know how he'd react and I kinda told him about it but said it was a girl."
We kept talking, even though he was mainly doing the talking. He started talking about boys he liked, but mainly Martin, so I guess he really liked him. Meanwhile, I just continued listening. Quinn was actually pretty cool once you got to know him.
After like, 20 minutes or so, he looked me in the eye and wiggled his eyebrows. "Sooo, do you like anybody?" My face turned dark red and I almost choked on air. His face, however, lit up. "Oh my God, you do like someone! Tell me who! Is he in your home room? Any of your classes? Tall, dark, with pearly white teeth? Tell me, tell me!" He squealed, as if he was a school girl. "I don't like anybody." I muttered. I wasn't sure if I liked Oakley or not. I mean, just thinking about him gave me a goofy smile and his presence was enough to make me want to faint. "Then, why did you blush? Don't deny it, just tell me! I promise, I've already told you a secret, so tell me! I won't tell a soul!"
I guess I sort of trusted Quinn, and he did just tell me a huge secret, that I already knew. "Okay, fine, maybe I do like someone." He gasped, dramatically. "I knew it! Tell me, come on!" I sighed. "You're like a little kid." I teased. "Okay, I may or may not have little bitty tiny feelings towards Oakley." Quinns jaw dropped and his eyes widened. God, could he be more dramatic? He then squealed a very high pitched squeal. "Eek! You two would be so perfect together! I'm imagining it already! What would your ship name be?" He gasped. "Oaklet or Viokley? Oh my God! I'm already imagining a wedding and children, you'll have 3, two of which who are twin girls and the other is a boy, and I'll get to be the uncle and eeek!" He continued to scream and ramble and my face was flushed red.
How did the timid small quiet boy turn into this loud, cheerful and rambling boy?
The world works in weird ways, that's for sure.
