He was cold, hungry, damp, lost, hungry, tired, his muscles were aching, did I mention hungry? Also, his pillow was extremely uncomfortable.

Keith groaned, his eyes not wanting to open. This pillow's hard as a rock. He begrudgingly sat up, turning to fluff said pillow, when he realized: Wait... this is a rock. Observing his surroundings, Keith realized he was in a cave of some sort.

"Whaaatt the hell..." he made an effort to stand up, but a sharp pain piercing his left thigh forced him to stay put. His lip suffered a small (actually huge, it hurt like a bitch) bite wound to prevent himself from crying out, and after the pain dulled, he looked down to inspect the damage:

A long gash that took up most of the top of his leg. Luckily, it wasn't too deep to the point where he'd bleed to death. He cursed under his breath, "Okay... not a big deal. Just gotta get to the hospital."

Enter reality... he's in a fucking cave.

"WHERE THE HELL AM I!?"

The sound of waves crashing against the outer walls of the cave told him he was on some island, and another wave of reality set in. The wave of huge, uncontrollable, body freezing panic.

Holy shit! How the fuck did I get here?! Where the hell is here?!?

*splash*

It came from a small pool of water just a few inches away. God I look like shit. Was his first thought when he saw his reflection.

Then his eyes turned a bright ocean blue. "......um..." he then realized those eyes weren't his. ".......UUM......"

The eyes grew larger and seconds later, a face popped out of the water, which explained the splash! Keith heard earlier.

"AH!" A (very manly) scream erupted from Keith and he did his best to scoot away from the strange creature. It was a boy... but then not a boy. Kind of hard to know what to feel about something when you don't even know what the hell it is. "Uh..."

The thing just stared at Keith, who could only stare back. Then it's eyes trailed down to Keith's foot. It wasted no time to lean forward and pick his foot up to examine it. However, that foot was connected to the leg with the rather large gash in it. Keith clenched his teeth as his leg screamed out another wave of pain. "Shit!"

The creature flinched from Keith's outburst and quickly dropped his foot (only adding more agony, how rude). Keith held his breath to avoid hyper ventilating, applying pressure to his leg.

It seemed to notice Keith's distress, it's nostrils flaring as it smelt him, and then noticed the wound Keith did his best to maintain. As if understanding Keith was hurt, the creature withdrew itself from Keith and let out a soft hiss. With another splash! it disappeared underwater; the cave became silent once again.

Of course, it was only silent because Keith could not believe what he'd just seen. That thing had a fin. A fish fin. Human... ish looking, fish scales and fins and tails... no---no way, it couldn't be. Those don't exist. Or... if they don't exist, then what the fuck did I just see?

Keith decided he was going to have to worry about... that... later. "Okay..." he stared down at the flesh wound, thinking out loud, "What am I gonna do with you?"

*S P L A S H*

A figure surfaced from the pool, and Keith screamed again. It was the same creature... but there was a pile of seaweed in its arms. It held the sticky algae towards Keith, locking eyes as if to say here ya go!
