Keith threw on his sweatshirt, preparing for the cold outside. After tying his shoes, he tapped his heels on the ground so his toes wouldn't be smushed in the front. It was only 8:30 a.m., and Keith couldn't go back sleep, so he decided to venture outside.

Shiro and Adam were having breakfast in the kitchen when Keith came out of his room. "Good morning." Keith said.

"..."

The two stared at him as if he was an alien. "Keith!" Adam cheered, jumping up from his seat and going to hug the boy. "It's so nice to see you up!"

Keith smiled and laid his head on Adam's shoulder. "Feels good to be up."

Eventually, Shiro joined the hug, too. "How're you feeling?"

"Better. I'm just gonna go walk down by the beach."

"WHAT!?" They reeled back, still holding onto Keith.

"You guys okay with that?" Keith mumbled. "I figured you'd want me to get out of the house."

"Of course we do," Adam grinned, still a little shocked, "we just... didn't think you'd want to go near the water."

"Especially since you hate the water." Shiro added.

Keith shrugged his shoulders, and the couple let him go. "I don't know. The water's not all that bad." Giving another smile, Keith stuffed his hands in his warm pockets and headed for the door. "I'll be back around lunchtime."

"Okay..." they both said, watching the door shut behind Keith.

Shiro then leaned over to Adam. "Are we sure pod people don't exist?"

Adam eyed him, then quickly pulled out his phone to google it.

Now, Keith had said he was going to the beach, which is true, but he wasn't really going for the view.

He was going to find Coran.

Which, Keith soon discovers, is impossible.

One doesn't simply find Coran.

Coran finds you.

"Coran?" Keith called, searching in a few bushes. "Where are you? I just want to talk." The beach was empty, thankfully (also cause it was 8:30 in the morning and it was freezing), so no one would think Keith was crazy for trying to talk to the crazy person.

The old coot couldn't be found anywhere, and Keith was really starting to worry. Coran was his only link to Lance, them being the same species and all, so Keith needed to find him.

He took a deep breath, then cupped his mouth, "CORAAAAANNN!"

The breeze suddenly picked up, and Keith hugged himself tightly, rubbing his arms, but he then heard something in the wind. It was laughter. And it was Coran's laugh.

"...okay... not creepy at all."

The wind howled again, but Keith heard a voice:

"....follow the shadow......"

Mortified of what he heard, Keith spun on his heel and left the beach. "Nope."

"....is there desire to find Lance?...." It was asking him, and he halted.

"Lance?" Keith looked to the waters, but there was still no one there. "Um, hello?"

"...cave...."

Keith crossed his arms and huffed. "Lord, I was already in the cave! For two weeks!"

"....on the beach.... find the cave.... find Coran...."
