The four teens gathered around Keith's living room---Keith and Lance on the couch while Pidge and Hunk had a spread of pillows on the ground---as The Little Mermaid's opening number began."I can't believe you still have this, Pidge." Keith groaned and shook his head.
"You can't beat the classics." She told him, then wrapped her blanket tighter around herself. "Besides, I did say I wanted Lance to watch it."
"It's true." Lance added. "She was very excited."
"See? And you were worried he wouldn't like it."
"The movie's barely even started yet-! Okay, nevermind. Fine, whatever." Keith sunk into the couch, but Lance wasn't letting him escape that easily; he grabbed Keith by the arms and pulled him into his lap.
"Such a blowfish." He giggled, brushing Keith's bangs aside.
"Just watch the stupid movie."

They were in the middle of "Kiss the Girl" when Keith felt a sharp pain in the side of his head. He first tried to ignore it, thinking it was just a headache, but the pain returned stronger and louder... louder?
Lance noticed Keith's look of discomfort. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm okay." The pain, once again, came back, so Keith stood from Lance's lap to go to the bathroom.
The others noticed too, and Hunk was the first to ask, "Are you okay?"
Before Keith could be bombarded with questions, he replied, "I'm fine. I just have a small headache. There's pain medicine in the bathroom, which is where I'm going, so you guys can stay here and enjoy the movie."
Lance puffed out his bottom lip, batting his lashes. "But I can't enjoy the movie if you're not here with me."
"I'm sure you'll manage."
In the bathroom, Keith grabbed the pills he needed when another wave of pain pierced his head. He gave an aggravated sigh and was in the midst of opening the bottle when he noticed his reflection.
The whites of his eyes were... well, they weren't white. They were bright yellow.
"...that's---that is not normal," came his response. When the ache soon faded away as it did before, the yellow glow did the same. His eyes were back to normal. And that was good.
He took the pills anyway, figuring the headache was just messing with his vision, so he only thought he saw himself with a pair of glowing yellow eyes. Because that wasn't normal for a... human.
Except I'm not completely human. Keith reminded himself as he took a seat back on the couch. It's probably just mermaid stuff.
"You okay now?" Lance asked, scooting closer. Keith had purposefully sat on the other end of the couch in case the... strange glowing happened again.
"Um, yeah. Fine." He mumbled, keeping his gaze locked to the tv.
Lance could sense Keith's wall he'd put up, so he nodded understandingly. "Okay. That's good."
Suddenly, Lance felt Keith's hand as he knitted their fingers together. He spared a glance to Keith, who then tugged Lance over so his head would fall on his shoulder. "Now watch the movie." He instructed quietly, still holding onto Lance's hand.
Lance rolled his eyes and snuggled up further into Keith's side. "Whatever you say, your highness."
"We can hear you." Pidge grumbled. "Some of us are trying to enjoy the movie, here."
"Hey, I am enjoying it." Lance retaliated. "Keith's back, isn't he? So I'm back to enjoying it."
"Am I gonna have to pause the movie and give you that look so you'll shut up? We're watching this for you!"
"Exactly, so you should accommodate to my needs. And one of my needs is Keith, therefore, he has to be here in order for me to enjoy the movie."
Keith then added under his breath, "Another one of his needs is for you to shut up."
Pidge gasped, hearing the insult, as Lance bellowed in laughter. "I am so gonna push you in the fish tank tomorrow." She threatened.
"I'm so scared."
"Okay, now I'm getting annoyed." Hunk was the one to pause the movie and looked to all three of them. "Can we just watch the movie now? Or, since it's already paused, I can make us some popcorn?"
"Pop... corn?" Lance frowned curiously. "What's..?"
"YOU'VE NEVER HAD POPCORN?!" Pidge jumped to her feet and dragged Hunk with her. "Hunk, emergency! Lance needs popcorn now!"
"Are they always like this?" Lance giggled as the two ran to the kitchen.
Keith shrugged. "I don't know. You met them shortly after I did."
"Well, I like them." Lance decided, stretching his legs out. "They're fun."
"If you like rowdy, obnoxious teenagers."
"Have you forgotten than I'm a rowdy, obnoxious teenager?" He poked Keith's nose. "You like me, don't you?"
The older grinned, glancing down. "Sure."
"Whaddya mean sure?" Lance laughed. He yelped when Keith wrapped his arms around his shoulders for a hug.
"You are rowdy."
"But you still loove me."
Keith chuckled into Lance's hair. "Yes. Is that better than 'sure'?"
Holding onto Keith's arms, Lance hummed happily. "It's much better."
