"You mean you don't know where he is!?"Allura was backed into a corner as the king and queen demanded to know where their son was. "I-I do know! Don't worry, he's perfectly safe!"
"Then where is he?!"
"I um, well... funny story-"
"For the love of-" the queen covered her face, trying to keep herself calm and taking deep breaths.
The king continued to interrogate the princess. "I'm losing my patience, Princess Allura. I need to know where my son is immediately! It's adamant that we know his location!"
"Of course! Yes, I can---I'll go get him!"
"Just tell us where he is! How difficult is this!?"
Luckily, Jasmine entered the throne room. "Your majesty, you have a visitor."
"Not now."
"But sir... it's..." she made an awkward gesture so it looked like she had a mask over her face.
The king tensed, as did the queen, and he backed away from Allura. "Of course. Let him in." Then, turning to the princess, muttered, "You're very lucky I can't deal with you now, so go get my son."
"Yes, your majesty." She quickly exited the doors, but stopped in her tracks before she swam into the shark before her. "...I-I'm sorry, sir."
"Don't let it happen again."
She didn't hesitate to move out of the way, but she looked back as the king of sharks, Zarkon, entered through the doors with Haggar, his advisor. A shiver went down her spine; those two gave her the creeps.
But why were they here?
Curiosity got the better of Allura, so she quietly crept back. Apparently, Jasmine had the same idea, because she was already peeking through the slit of the shut doors. "...don't tell." She pleaded. "I could get in serious trouble for eavesdropping like this."
Allura smiled, setting a calming hand on the servant's shoulder. "I won't tell if you won't."
Once their promises were made, the two turned their attention to those inside:
"Why have you summoned me here?" Zarkon's deep, menacing voice turned the water cold.
The queen was the first to speak up, against her husband's wishes. "I think you know why; one of your putrid sharks attacked my son!"
"I sincerely apologize." The queen's nose wrinkled at the fake apology. "I will do my best to keep my people from acting out."
"Please, you don't even care that you almost destroyed this royal blood line." She growled, getting up from her chair to swim in Zarkon's face. "What would River and I have done if something happened to Lance?"
Her tone didn't change the shark's sature. "Well the logical solution would be to find a replacement," he then smirked, "don't you think so?"
Queen Anahita gasped at the thought, the blood in her veins turning to ice, and her hard glare could pierce holes through the shark's head.
Luckily, the king stepped in to diffuse the situation, rising from his chair as well. "My son will not be replaced, because this won't happen again."
The queen pointed a claw in Zarkon's chest, ignoring her husband's comment. "How dare you say such a thing! Do you realize you could have a war on your hands?!"
He then got in her face, shoving her hand away. "We're already at war."
"That's enough." The king pulled his wife back, guiding her to her seat. "I will not have a blood bath in my own home."
