Veronica wiped her sweaty palms on her dress.

She was walking to the Blue And Gold room, to tell Betty the truth about that night.

Veronica knew she was going to lose her best friend, but she told herself that at least she would be happy with a guy who loved her.

She opened the door and saw Betty sitting there.

Her eyes looked red and puffy, probably from crying. Guilt filled Veronica, she really thought he cheated on her.

"Hey B," she said.

Betty looked up "hey V."

"You know," she said standing up "I wanted to thank you."

Veronica raised her eyebrows "for what?"

"For telling me about Jughead," Betty said "I mean, when I tried to talk to him about it he lied and said that you tried to kiss him. I can't believe I trusted him so much, I gave him my secrets, my virginity-"

"Betty," Veronica said interrupting her.

She had to tell her.

"Jughead wasn't lying."

Betty stood there, and then laughed lightly.

"Is this a joke?!" She asked.

Veronica shook her head "n-no. I was at the White Wrym, I was drunk and I made a move on him. He pulled away before I could kiss him and tried to tell me to snap out of it."

Betty stood still "you?! It was you?! You hit on my boyfriend?!"

Tears formed in Veronica's eyes as she looked down and nodded.

"And you lied to me about it?!" Betty said "do you know how hard last night was for me?! I cried myself to sleep thinking about how I thought I knew Jughead, how I wasted a year on him. But it was all a lie! And for what exactly?!"

Veronica didn't respond.

"Tell me!" Betty yelled.

Veronica looked up. She's never seen Betty this angry.

"I lied because I didn't want you to hate me," she told her.

"Of course. You were just being selfish like always!" Betty said now clenching her fists "you know what?! I'm done! Get out! I don't want to see your face!"

Veronica didn't move.

"Get out!" Betty yelled while tears rolled down her cheeks "you're not my best friend anymore!"

But Veronica still didn't move.

"Are you deaf?! Get out!" Betty said clenching her fists deeper and deeper "I don't want anything to do with you!"

Veronica stayed put.

"GET OUT!" Betty screamed then walking over and pushing Veronica out of the room "LEAVE!"

She slammed the door in her face. While Veronica stood there remembering every moment.

She was alone now.

Or was she?

----------------------------------------------------------------

Betty remained in the room, her knees against her chest and her hands bloody.

She was filled with anger, but she didn't know what had come over her before.

The door opened, and for a second she thought it was Veronica.

But it was Jughead.

"I heard you screaming from the hall," he said "what-"

Before he could reply, she wrapped her arms around him.

Betty sobbed into his chest as she felt his arms wrap around her in return.

"I'm s-sorry," she managed to say "I-I should've believed you. I was an h-horrible g-girlfriend."

"Don't say that," Jughead said brushing some hair out of her face "I get you would'be believed your best friend over me."

"That was the problem," Betty said "she lied! She lied to me Jug!"

"I know. But she just didn't want to lose you," he told her.

"I don't care!" Betty said her voice rising again "she lied and made me think that you didn't love me anymore!"

Betty noticed Jughead's face and sniffed "I-I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize," he told her "I get that you're really upset right now."

Betty closed her eyes and rested her head on Jughead's shoulder. She felt him began to rub her back.

"You know that I would never do anything like that, right?" Jughead asked.

"I know that now," she said.

It was silent, and Betty knew she needed to ask him.

"Juggie...I need to ask you something."

He looked at her "yeah? What is it?"

"I know this is kind of off topic but-" she trailed off.

"What?" Jughead asked, "you can tell me."

She sighed "I-I can't stay in the same house as Chic anymore."

Jughead narrowed his eyebrows "wait, did he hurt you or something?"

"No, not exactly" Betty replied "he's really creepy, and I know he isn't what he seems. So when I tried to confront him about h-he blackmailed me."

"How did he blackmail you?" Jughead asked while his anger secretly rose.

"He said he would tell my Mom that you were a Serpent if I didn't keep my mouth shut and act like everything was okay," she told him.

Jughead sighed. He knew that Alice had some kind of hatred for the Serpents.

"Okay," he said, "you can stay with me if you want."

"Really?" Betty said, "but what about-"

"We'll figure it out," Jughead said.

"Thank you Jug" Betty muttered.

He wiped some of her tears "it's okay."'

"I love you," she told him.

"I love you too."
