Time hoppp to Monday!!
I woke up early on Monday to start the day right. Today is the day I'm going to try to find a friend. {That's sounds really sad, but it is what it is.}
I walked in the school doors on a quest to find my best friend, and things were looking up when I heard that there was a new kid.
I had history for my first class of the day, and the new girl had that class too.
When everyone was sitting in their seats Mrs. Potter said, "Children, we have a new student. Her name is Jennifer, and I hope you all treat her well. Jennifer, you may go sit by Lillian."
"Thank you, Mrs. Potter." Jennifer said before she came and sat by me.
When she sat down I said to her rather awkwardly, "Hello! I'm Lillian, and I'm the loser. No one likes me."
"Well, you don't seem like a loser from my first impression of you! I'm Jennifer Stevens." is how she replied.
It made me happy to hear that.
Francesca said, "Look guys! Little Miss Loser can speak!!" and the whole room burst out into laughter. Except Daniel, who looked awfully sad, and Jennifer who looked angry.
"See, I told you." I said to Jennifer.
"Now children!! Everyone pay attention! Your Civil War partner project is due Friday! On that day both you, and your partner will give your report orally, so start preparing for that, too." Mrs. Potter said.
Everybody sighed.
On the teacher went "blah blah blah blah blah".
I couldn't seem to focus....and I suppose Daniel couldn't either. Because he was staring at me almost the whole class period. After class I asked Daniel if he had time to work on our project that night, but he said he couldn't then, but maybe the next day.
So I decided to ask if Jennifer if she wanted to come to my house. She said she could, so after school I introduced her to my Aunt Martha.
They seemed to get along quite well, and that made me happy.
Aunt Martha asked Jennifer to go up to my room while she spoke with me.
"Honey, you don't have to make friends just to keep me from worrying. I'm sure you would rather have friends than not, but don't do it for me. I'll worry whether you have friends over or not."
"How did you—"
"I have my ways." she said as she tapped her temple with her index finger. "Now go and entertain Jennifer."
"Ok. I love you."
"I love you too, bean."
