Rain

Chapter 10

Lillian's POV:::
Aunt Martha then opens the door and says "Hey, I made breakfast!! Come down—" she then sees us "Come down when you're ready..." she says as she shuts the door and runs back down the stairs. Her face told me that she was obviously embarrassed.
"No, Aunt Martha!!!! It's not anything, honest!!" I say yelling after her, but it was too late. She was already gone.
"Uhhhh whoops!" Daniel says.
"Whatever. Race you downstairs!" I say.
"Oh, you're on!"
I jump out of the bed and step on him to slow him down, but he was too quick. He got out the door before me and was halfway down the stairs when I jumped on his back and tackled him to the ground.
That actually hurt a lot, and I heard him groan. So I get up and whisper in his ear evilly "I won."
"I touched the ground first." He said muffled against the floor.
"But I stood up first. Lillian 1, Daniel 0."
"You wanna start that with me? Be ready to lose, honey."
"Likewise."
I help him up and I hold out my hand and he stairs at it. "Shake it, stupid!"
"Why.....?"
"To prove that you won't cheat and neither will I."
"Fine." So we shook hands and walked over to the table and sat down.
Aunt Martha still looked embarrassed from earlier, but she still gave us breakfast, so I was content.
"That is so good! Thank you, Aunt Martha! If you don't mind me calling you that." Daniel said excitedly at first, but the last sentence was a little shy.
"You're welcome, young man! Of course, you can call me that!" She said cheerily.
"Thank you, Aunt Martha! I'm going to go change my clothes for school." I said as I went to put my dishes in the sink.
"I will too." Daniel said.
"Okay. Don't miss the bus!" She called as we made our way out of the dining room.
"Actually, I could drive her to school." Daniel stuck in at the last second.
"Are you sure?" I look at him and say.
"Yeah!"
"Well, however you're getting to school don't be late!" Aunt Martha said.
So we both headed for the stairs. I pushed Daniel down and ran up the stairs to my room. Before I close the door I call to him "Lillian:2 Daniel:0"
I hear him grumble and walk trudge up the stairs.

Daniel was waiting in the car when I got down the stairs and out the door.
"Hurry up, Slow poke!" He yells.
"I am! Leave me alone!" I said.
I got in the car and off we went to school.
When we walked into class together we heard Francesca practically screams "Look, guys!! The losers are dating!!" Then everybody starts laughing.
He blushes and sits down, but my blood was boiling. I couldn't hold it in anymore.
"FYI we aren't dating since you seem to be so interested. And what business is it of yours anyway? You can't keep a boyfriend because you cheat on him every chance you get. Jealous isn't a good look on you, Francesca." I said very sassily.
I heard chuckling coming from Jennifer behind me. Francesca's  mouth was gaping open.
"You might want to close your mouth. You wouldn't want any bugs to fly in."
She shuts her mouth and sits down.
I go and sit down next to Jennifer and she high fives me.
That was a good day.
