Time hopppp skipping to the next day!! (Because them working on the project is boring!)
Back to Lillian's POV:::
I got up and went to school just to receive hurtful words immediately after I walked in the door. They didn't really affect me anymore, but I'd still rather not have them said.
Last evening was a total let down. All Daniel and I spoke about was the Civil War. Nothing personal at all. I guess he's like an onion. You have to peel him back one layer at a time to get to the real Daniel. {I used that from a movie called "The Blind Side." Don't kill me.}
I saw him at his locker, and I approached him. As soon as he noticed I was walking towards him, he walked away.
*Nice! Now he's avoiding me!* is what I thought to myself.Skipping the day of school because it is also boringgg.
When I got home from school it was eerily quiet. It was always quiet, but not like this. Like there was an....absence.
"Mom! Are you home?" I called.
There was no answer, but I knew she had to be home because her car was still in the driveway.
I walk to her room to see if she's in there, and I see a figure splayed out on the floor.
I run to the figure which was my mom and shook her. I yelled over and over again "Wake up! Mom, you can't leave me here alone please wake up!!"
Now sobbing out those words I got up from the floor and looked around for whatever I might find.
Pills. A bottle of pills was on the nightstand. And a note. It read:"My dear Lillian,
I'm sorry I had to leave you this way. I know it's selfish and I've put you in an awful position, but I know you can make it on your own until Aunt Martha comes to take care of you. You're a strong girl, and I believe in you. I just couldn't bear the pain anymore. I love you, Lilly, even when it doesn't seem like it.
-Mom""She expects me to live on my own until Aunt Martha can come?!" I thought out loud, "She's 5 days away!"
I put my hands on my face and sunk to the ground quietly sobbing.{{She didn't say goodbye. In a way that's a lot better than being there while it's happening. While your friend is taking their last breaths. The feeling that washes over you without warning is devastating. It drowns you with its mighty force.
As you hear the life draining from their voice. When you see it drain from their eyes.
Stay alive.}}
