After Halloween, something in the air had changed. The realization that an actual murder was on the loose seemed to have finally sunk in with the students at Hogwarts. Everyone did their best to steer clear of Jamie as if just by being near her they were putting their lives in danger. She didn't blame them, they were not entirely wrong.
When Jamie had been reunited with her friends the morning after that horrid night, she had received a long lecture from all of them. About how they had tried to sneak out to look for her but Snape had caught them. How worried they had been. Fred had been so angry he couldn't even look at her. It was only after Jamie had refused to stop hugging him for a whole hour that he finally forgave her. Jamie never told them what had actually happened in the forest though, only that she had lost track of time.
She still fought with herself about whether or not she should have let Sirius go. She had nightmares about him breaking into Gryffindor Tower and killing her friends. If that did occur, it would be Jamie's fault and she knew it.

One particularly cloudy Saturday, Jamie woke up a bit later than she usually did. She groaned and rolled over in her bed, wishing for sleep to come but it never did. A thought entered Jamie's head and she quickly jumped out of bed. She rushed to her trunk and threw it open and took out her lunar Callander.
"Oh come one!" Jamie growled upon seeing tonight was, in fact, a full moon. She was in no mood to go lock herself in the shrieking shack. She hated it. She hated what she was.
"Good, you're up,"
Jamie turned to see Hermione enter the room and quickly close the door behind her. "What is it?"
"Professor Lupin is your godfather, correct?"
"Yes, Hermione, we've already had this conversation."
"No, we talked about him being your godfather. That's not the conversation I want to have," Hermione breathed. Jamie watched as her friend played with the sleeve of her robes, making it obvious how nervous she was. "Do you...do you know that Professor Lupin is a werewolf?"
"What?" Jamie gasped standing up. Her lunar Callander now laid forgotten on the floor.
"Last month, when you were gone because of, you know... So was Professor Lupin! In fact, he's been out sick the exact same days you have. And last month, Snape was the one who taught the class. He had assigned an essay on werewolves. Professor Lupin said we didn't have to do it, but I already had it done. It became so obvious!" Hermione explained. "Jamie, he's a werewolf! he has to be!"
Jamie did not know how to react. Everything Hermione had said made perfect sense. It would explain why he was always tired, he looked older than he was, and not to mention the scars. Jamie used a spell to hide her, though most of them were covered by her clothing.
"Are you going to ask him?"
"Not tonight," Jamie shook her head. "He's probably resting and today would not be a good day to make him feel uneasy. Does anyone else suspect anything?"
"I don't think so," Hermione answered.
Jamie nodded. "Keep it that way. The last thing Remus needs is for the whole school to find out he's a werewolf. "

Jamie, now dressed in muggle jeans, a T-shirt, and a sweat jacket, entered the common room and sat down next to Harry, who was staring at the fireplace looking quite annoyed. "Hey," She grumbled laying her head on his shoulder.
