Jamie sat in the back of the library, the only place she could study in peace. Ever since Rita Skeeter had written that article Jamie could never get a moment alone. It was either people wanting details about her relationships with Cedric and Harry or they wanted to kill her for taking the two most popular guys in the school. Jamie had been doing everything in her power to avoid people since then.
"Hey, Jamie-"
"No! I'm not dating Harry Potter! I'm not dating Cedric Diggory! And I don't know who's the better kisser!"
"Well, I'd hoped you would say I was."
Jamie looked up to see Cedric grinning down at her. "Aw, Ced! I'm sorry I've just been so stressed and no one will leave me alone about that stupid article."
"It's alright," Cedric chuckled as he took the seat across from her. "I actually wanted to make sure you were okay. I know how crazy people can get about this stuff."
"No kidding," Jamie grumbled. "But don't worry about me, I'm used to people believing rumors about me."
"Well, that's not right," Cedric stated.
"It comes with the territory of your father being a convicted murderer."
"But still! You didn't commit any crimes and I keep telling people we aren't dating."
Jamie shook her head and smiled. "Cedric, don't worry about it. I'm fine, honest."
"Look at her! Why can't she just leave him alone? It's clear he doesn't want to be with her!"
Both Jamie and Cedric looked up to see a group of girls trying to remain inconspicuous behind a bookcase.
"Do you have something you'd like to say?" Cedric fumed.
"Ced," Jamie hissed.
"No! If they have something to say they can say it to our face!" Cedric shot back.
The three girls stepped out from behind the bookcase. One, who was obviously the leader of their little group, stepped forward.
"We just think that-"
"That you have the right to butt into other people's business?" Cedric stood up and crossed his arms over his chest. "What makes you think you have any right to have or share an opinion on our relationship? Go mind your own business!"
The girls quickly scurried away and Cedric sat back down.
"Relationship?" Jamie raised an eyebrow, a look of amusement on her face.
Cedric stuttered as he struggled to come up with an excuse making Jamie laugh.
"It's okay Ced, thanks for sticking up for me," Jamie assured him.
Cedric slightly smiled, "Of course I'd stick up for you, you're my friend."

Jamie entered the common room long after curfew that night. She had been walking around the silent castle trying to clear her head. Jamie had written to Remus two days ago and had yet to receive a response. It worried her. Had she upset Remus? Were the memories too painful for him to talk about?
"Jamie?"
Jamie nearly screamed before she realized the voice belonged to Harry who sat on the couch. "Harry Potter! Scare me like that again and I'll hex you!" She hissed.
"Sorry," Harry winced. "What are you doing up?"
"Went for a walk, you?" Jamie asked sitting down beside her friend.
