The air turned cold and the green began to disappear as Winter began to make its presence known.  Before you knew it, the first snow had covered the ground.

"Now, remember, these visits to Hogsmeade village are a privilege," Professor McGonagall spoke to the group of third-year students before her as more rushed out into the courtyard to join the group.  "Should your behavior reflect poorly on the school in any way that privilege shall not be extended again."

One by one each student handed their permission slips to Filch who stood beside the Professor.  Harry and Jamie rushed over to Professor McGonagall who held up her hand.

"No permission form signed, no visiting the village.  That's the rule you two."

"All those with permission follow me, all those without stay put," Filch ordered as he and McGonagall began to walk away.  But Jamie and Harry stopped Professor McGonagall.

"But Professor, we thought if you signed it then we could-" Harry started to ask.

"I can't.  Only a parent or guardian can sign.  Since I am neither it would be highly inappropriate," The old woman answered before walking away.  She stopped and looked back at her students.  "I'm sorry you two, that's my final word."

Harry and Jamie turned to Ron and Hermione.

"Forget it guys," Jamie sighed.  "We'll see you later."

Jamie and Harry turned away and headed back towards the castle.  They looked back to see Hermione waving as she and Ron joined the others.

"It could be worse," Harry broke the silence.  "You could still be mad at me."

Jamie punched his shoulder, but not hard enough that it actually hurt.  "Don't push it," She chuckled.  Jamie had forgiven Harry for spilling her secrets to Professor Lupin after not talking to him for an hour and then Harry bribed her with some chocolates.   Truth be told, if their positions had been reversed she would have most likely done the same.

Harry and Jamie slowly made their way up the stairs, heading for the Gryffindor Tower.

"We could try using the Invisibilty cloak?"

"They'd see our footsteps in the snow," Jamie answered.

"Did you ask Professor Lupin to sign yours?" Harry asked.

"Yes, but he said no.  Remus doesn't think it's a good idea for me to go to Hodsmeade with my father out on the lose."

"Psst- Harry!  Jamie!"

Jamie stopped and looked to see Fred and George peeking out a slightly opened door.   "What are you two doing here? Shouldn't you be heading to Hogsmeade?  I gave my list for a reason!"

Fred rolled his eyes, "Just get in here!"

Jamie and Harry looked at each other before shrugging and doing as they were told.  They entered the empty classroom.  George quietly closed the door behind them.   The two looked to the Weasley twins, who both had the look they got when they knew something no one else did.

"Well? Spit it out!" Jamie exclaimed.

Fred pulled something from inside his cloak with a flourish and laid it on one of the desks. It was a large, square, very worn piece of parchment with nothing written on it. Harry, suspecting one of Fred and George's jokes, stared at it.  Jamie, who knew better, gasped.

"Oh, how could I forget about this!"

"About what? A piece of parchment?" Harry asked, clearly confused.
