I head to the vlog house, my heart hurting. I enter and plop down on the couch next to Jason.
"Ally, you need to move on. Go out with someone else." Jason says. "You've been moping for too long."
"I don't want to date anyone else. Ever." I groan. "And it's only been a couple days. New Years is three days away, and I know I won't be kissed at midnight."
"Go out with someone else," Jason repeats.
Todd and Scott enter and they pull me up into a big hug.
"There she is." Todd ruffles my hair.
"How are you feeling?" Scott asks.
"Terrible. Jason thinks I need to date someone else." I roll my eyes and sit back down.
"Well, that's not a bad idea. Maybe you'll hurt less if you find a distraction." Todd shrugs.
"I don't do distractions. I'm a very emotional person. I tried the whole don't-care-about-others thing in college; didn't turn out too well." I laugh.
"We're throwing a party for New Year's." Scott claps his hands. "We'll find someone to be your distraction."
"As long as you don't invite Dom, I'll be here." I sigh.
"Done." Scott grins.
I hang around the house as the others film. I can feel my mood bringing others down though so I leave after several hours. I go home and lay down on my couch.
I lay in silence for a long time. My heart hurts every time I think about Dom. About the countless hours we spent on this couch, cuddling and watching movies. About everything we shared.
I grab my camera and begin to film. "Hey, guys. This is going to be really serious. I tried to film this the other day, but I just couldn't. As some of you know, I posted on my Instagram story the other day that Dom and I aren't together anymore. Saying that out loud hurts me so much. I love him dearly, I always will. But some things just don't go the way we plan. Dom and I were together for five months before we split. They were the best five months ever. So now, I'm not going to cry because it's over. I'm going to smile because it happened, as cliche as that is." I laugh. "Please enjoy this slideshow of all my pictures and videos of Dom and me. I might delete this or make it private later, but for now, I want to share these memories." I stop filming.
I edit the video together with a slideshow. An hour later, I upload the video titled 'Something You Should Know' before shutting my laptop.
Another hour later, I receive a text. It's from Dom.
'Hey, I saw your video.'
I roll my eyes. 'And?'
'Why did you post it?' He asks.
'Because I had feelings that needed to be let out.' I reply.
My phone dings with a YouTube notification: Dominic DeAngelis has uploaded a new video.
I click on Dom's video and my heart sinks. It's the video from a few months ago when he asked our friends what they thought about me. The last clip is of Dom, though.
"Hey guys, I know this is a really cute video. As some of you know, many of you probably don't, Ally and I broke up. I'm not going to go into details. She recently uploaded a video talking about us, showing pictures and such. I figured I would show you guys this little project I was working on. I showed this to her back in August, and I never thought I would share it with you guys. I hope you've enjoyed this intimate look into my life. Ally, if you're watching this, the time I spent with you meant everything to me." He clears his throat. "Anyway, until next time. Bada bing, bada boom."
