Ch8: The Rescue Attempt

Gray's pov

I opened my eyes to light flooding into my field of vision. I was confused why I was sleeping against a rock when it hit me. I leapt up in panic as Pepper was flung halfway across the cave.

"Oww. Don't fling me like that. That's even worse then the one time I was hit by a table that Autumn threw at Tyler" she complained, standing up and stretched like a cat. "Sorry. I forgot you were on my lap" I replied.

She just looked at me with a swish of her tail. "But now we have a problem. The blood was washed away during the rain so now we can't follow that" I pointed out with a sigh.

"You mean this blood" Pepper asked, pointing at some blood spots that led deeper into the cave. "Great eye. Let's go" I praised, grabbing her and following the blood spots.

The further we got into the cave the darker it became and I was struggling to make anything out. I started to pick up the faint murmurs of voices. Male voices. "That must be the golem" Pepper whispered as I tiptoed further down.

I noticed a bright light coming from the end of the tunnel as I fast tiptoed over. I looked around the corner and saw a group of 5 teenage boys, probably about 17 or 18, maybe 19. They had tons of supplies and stuff regular teenage boys would like such as magazines.

I looked around and spotted (Y/n) chained to a wall. She had been changed into a dress that was though high with a couple of tares in it. She had a cloth tied in her mouth and her hands were chained above her head.

Pepper tried to get over to help but I held onto her tight. I'd need a plan for this. I know. I'll attack the boys and Pepper can free (Y/n). "Alright Pepper. I have a plan" I whispered. "I'm listening" she whispered back, looking up at me.

"Alright, I'll detract them with a fight while you grab (Y/n). Deal" I asked. "Deal" Pepper whisper replied. I placed Pepper down and snuck into the room. "Hey idiots. Hope you can skate cause you'll need it" I yelled, catching their attention as I turned the floor into ice.

They all slipped about and a couple fell flat on their faces. "You'll pay for that one of them yelled. He turned his arm to one that looked similar to a golem and came at me.

I tried to dodge but my ankle was in extreme pain from trying to move fast and I wasn't able to move out of the way as the teen punched me into a wall. I felt sick to my stomach from the impact and threw up, blood mixed in.

"Looks like the old timer can't handle a simple punch" one of the boys laughed. "Who you calling old" I asked, standing up. I limped over, going into my ice demon form but they didn't seem scared.

"Ice demon's Zeroth destruction fist" I yelled, punching the guy in the gut but he didn't seem affected. "How?" I asked, confused with how this guy wasn't affected. That's when I saw rocks starting to cover his body. He increased in size by like 10x. That's when it hit me. These teens were the golem that terrorised the town.

The golem in front of me punched me hard in the gut and I was sent flying into the wall. My head hit the stone wall as I collapsed into complete darkness.

I woke up, my head in complete pain when I realised I was back in the hospital. I sat up quickly, pain shooting up my spine. "What's going on. Where's (Y/n)?" I asked, spotting Pepper on the bottom of the bed with a bandage over her eye.

"They caught me and as punishment. They-" she started before tears built up in her eye. "What did they do?" I asked, looking at her. "They removed my eye" she replied, sobbing hard. My eyes opened in shock. Those boys were despicable.

They would remove the eye of a creature that couldn't even fight back just because it was trying to get its friend back. I balled my fists up in anger. "Those punks are going to pay" I growled.

"Please can we call back up now" Pepper asked, looking at me. "Fine" I sighed. "Do you know Tyler and Autumn's phone number?" she asked. "Phone number?" I questioned, unsure what a phone number was. "Yeah. The thing that you use to communicate with people" she replied.

"I know the lacrima number of Fairy Tail and Sabertooth. Does that help?" I explained to her. "Do you have one of these lacrima's?" Pepper asked. I pointed over to the lacrima that sat on the table.

Pepper climbed onto the table and called the Fairy Tail guild. Gramps picked up and looked into the lacrima. "Hello" he asked. "Hi. Could I speak with Tyler for a second" Pepper asked, Makarov yelled across the guild hall and a couple minutes later Tyler came to the lacrima.

"Hey Pepper. Where's (Y/n)?" he asked. "She was kidnapped by golem teens that beat up Gray twice and we need back up so could you come, bring Kage and two other people" Pepper explained over the lacrima. Tyler nodded and Pepper hung up before calling the Sabertooth guild.

This time Minerva asked. "What do you want" she asked. "Can I speak with Autumn for a second" Pepper asked, Minerva put up her finger to indicate one minute and yelled "Sting. Tell you cat girlfriend to get up here because someone wants to talk to her"

"She's not my girlfriend" Sting yelled back and the door opened before Autumn came to the lacrimal. "Hey. What's up" she asked. Pepper explained the same thing again and gave us a thumbs up before hanging up. "They should be here soon" Pepper told me as we waited.
